Yet another piece of proof that makes anything but a "Not Guilty" from the court a farce of the law system of the USA.Not sure if this was posted:
So the prosecution basically lied in thier closing statement
So the prosecution basically lied in thier closing statement
Imagine everything we know to be truth. Like who he was calling for, how the officers approached him, how he wanted out if the vehicle....and then say none of it happend that way and it really yappend this way that was lied aboutWhat did they say?
Was one of them that guy who found a pig's head on his doorsteps?Apperently they had to substitute two jurors
That was a defence witness, IIRC.Was one of them that guy who found a pig's head on his doorsteps?
What'd she do?So apperently Mxine Walter's statement is enough grounds for Appeal in the future.
Dramatically increased both the chance of riots and how bad they could get via demanding that rioters stay in the street and get "more confrontational" if there wasn't a guilty verdict. What'd she do?
As bear said.What'd she do?
This is the same woman that called the 1992 LA riots an "uprising" and called for violent confrontation with Trump supporters on more than one occasion. Maxine Waters has always been a violent rabble rouser and eager provocateur. That her provocations always damage the people she eggs on seems not to matter to her and as a prominent California Democrat she has of course never faced repercussions for her actions.Dramatically increased both the chance of riots and how bad they could get via demanding that rioters stay in the street and get "more confrontational" if there wasn't a guilty verdict.
Analysis: Maxine Waters just inflamed a very volatile situation
Minnesota -- and the rest of the country -- is on a knife's edge waiting for a verdict in the murder trial of Derek Chauvin, the police officer charged in the death of George Floyd.www.cnn.com
"I hope we get a verdict that says guilty, guilty, guilty," she said in response to reporters' questions. "And if we don't, we cannot go away. We've got to stay on the street. We get more active, we've got to get more confrontational. We've got to make sure that they know that we mean business."
Note that's CNN, hardly a bastion of right-wing thought, and they're still lambasting this California (D)Representative. She's got a pretty long history of calling for violence.
Actually the Judge also said it might have given them a successful appeal to overturn the case.As bear said.
But the judge said he doesn't care what a congress person has to say, as well as it makes it easier for an appeal to happen
They are making excuses in advance because they fucked the persecution on an overwrought charge started because of edited footage. The only people I feel bad for are the ones trapped in that city because the housing prices fucking imploded. So, the jury deliberation for the trial has began, and national review has some articles covering the case.
The first is a rough summary of the case and what the mostly likely result is.
The second is about why there's now a solid chance for overturning it on appeal, because of a prejudicial comments and jury intimidation by Maxine Waters, who decided to fly down and weigh in on the case, despite having absolutely nothing to do with it and being from a different district that's in another state entirely.
The first gets stuff wrong. The depraved indifference standard of the 3rd degree murder is what's going to hit. Because the Jury doesn't, and shouldn't, know it's legally dubious, as juries decide facts, not law. The law question already got answered and the jury don't even know it got asked. So, the jury deliberation for the trial has began, and national review has some articles covering the case.

(Source: Jury instructions: What the Derek Chauvin jurors are considering)Definition: Under Minnesota law, a person causing the death of another by perpetrating an act eminently dangerous to others and evincing a depraved mind, without regard for human life, but without intent to cause the death of any person, is guilty of Murder in the Third Degree.
