Given that history's been rewritten, we've got no idea what the war was actually like. Might have had more parallels to the fall of the roman empire or Nixon selling out american manufacturing industry to china than outright conquest, with human traitors allying with the xenos since they were outside imperial politicking and their loyalty was therefore theoretically assured in a way that the loyalty of locals wouldn't be, transferring technologies and resources in exchange for cheap manufacturing and labor, etc, until the xenos had attained enough power relative to them that they'd outlived their usefulness.
Sure, but while the xenos overlords might be inclined to Reward them As the Traitor Deserves, any resurgent pro-Human power is definitely going to consider the priority to be "Traitors Before Enemies."
Hmmm, something that might make sense is to have the Marshs be a honeypot- they're actually still traitors aligned with the aliens, who act as a false / controlled opposition to the aliens in order to gather information on pro-Humans.
