I'm not sure if its possible to get Fallout 3 to run without using Tale of two wastelands. That or you have an older PC with XP on it.

Chris Avellone on Twitter brought up some questions regarding Fallout on Prime. He apparently talked with some other senior devs on Fallout including Tim Cain about it and one of the questions he has in regards to the shows 'craftsmanship' is that he feels that the Enclave Scientist, Wilzug and his relationship to the Enclave and the insertion of the Enclave into the story was underdeveloped in his humble opinion.

Apparently he wanted it more developed since he feels mentioning the Enclave in the Fallout setting should be a big deal, not just a 'cameo' so to speak but also admitted that something more could be revealed about the Enclave in Season Two.

He also had an issue that Wilzig's research from the first episode didn't seem to correlate with cold fusion since he was mostly focused on dogs, but a reply pointed out that in Fallout a Science skill is pretty broad, so Cyberdogs and Cold Fusion are fair game for Science'ing.


It's honestly something that doesn't bother me in regards to the shows craftsmanship to be honest but at least Chris Avellone explained why he felt it was an issue.

His second question, which is something I too feel should've been covered more, is his question regarding the anti-feral Ghoul Drug. It was like the only major retcon that kind of stood out to me. I won't say I hated it, but it did feel somewhat macguffiny to me.



Chris mentioned he would've assumed any anti-feral drug would've been similar to RadAway/Rad-X and was also curious as to why it uses a "Jet" style inhaler (Chris also states that he based the Jet Inhaler off of asthma inhalers that he grew up with as some random trivia). Regardless, it does cause some major continuity issues since even in Fallout 4 there are many Ghouls who are not feral and yet we have no prior evidence of this anti-feral Ghoul drug.

Also Chris Avellone did mention the infamous NCR=Destruction and Chalkboard dealio. It seemed he dropped his brain and thought it was a retcon at first glance, but later stated that he felt the Chalkboard was simply a poor way of delivering lore.

I dint have tale of two wastelands, no idea what mod that even is.
I am only using the unofficial patch just to be safe, but I can run FO3 on 10 with only minor issues before the oatch

Tale of Two Wastelands run it in the New Vegas engine with all of the stuff that added like ironsights and such

They have already began shutting down studio's in classic Microsoft fashion too. I remember the olden days when Microsoft killed a bunch of studio's and IP's and I don't expect this to go any different.

A shame that the IP's will be left in a vault and forgotten, but it is for the best.

I wasn't aware the TV series was made by Bethesda?...And this is Microsoft we're talking about, they're not exactly...Logical.

I suspect that Bethesda will at least be allowed to release Elder Scrolls 6 or Fallout 5 before Microsoft does anything like that. But if one of those fails then Bethesda might find itself on the chopping block.

Bethesda and Microsoft both had a hand and made money from the series.

Microsoft owns Zenimax. Who owns Bethesda and Id

It sucks that Microsoft bought all these companies because in the long term these IP's are just going to end up collecting dust and being forgotten given their track record.

Though I utterly despise the Fallout show I do not see it as particularly woke. There are certainly some leftist messages in it, but not enough to be truly be called woke.

I also genuinely do not understand why people are complaining about race mixing. Why exactally is that supposed to be a problem? Personally as someone with both White, Black, and American Indian ancestry I find people complaining about race mixing to be rather annoying. Most Americans are mixed raced if you go back far enough anyway so it's a rather silly thing to complain about.

Again, I'm not saying I like the show because I don't. It's just that my dislike is not politically motivated. I've found the same with most other people who I've talked to who are critical of the show. Don't lump us all in with this.

That's an important thing to point out actually. One of my first posts in reaction to this show was seeing similar arguments about race mixing online in reaction to this show and pointing out I hadn't seen it here as criticism. You can dislike the show without being racist or whatever.


I will say generally I tend to loathe nitpicking style criticism which is what the Synthetic video was. Anyone with mild competency and no sense of intellectual honesty can nitpick anything to shit. The Synthetic video combined basic anti-woke ragebaiting with that tedious level of nitpicking which makes it clearly exceptional in how poor of a critique it is.
