They aren't cool though, visually they're just 'BoS but EEEEEEEEEVULLLLLLLL', from a gameplay perspective they're just 'stronger than the PREVIOUS big bad guys!' and ultimately their impact on the series is killing a few hundred people before blowing up in a nuclear fireball. I think The Master...

Not denying they look cool, but that could be said for anything. I don't recall any ravenous fans of the supermutants, wanting to join the supermutant faction and making supermutant oriented mods. Especially ironic because 99% of Enclave 'fans' are tourists who never played the second game lmao.

Except the Enclave aren't America, they're a weird extremist faction of genocidal maniacs who think that the slightest amount of radiation/FEV exposure turns people into hideous mutants. Or at least their FO2 and FO3 leaders think so. Saying the Enclave are neat because "Fuck yeah Murica!" is...

I'm shocked the Enclave is as popular as they are, they're the closest to a joke faction FO1-2 ever got, complete with early 'durr republicans are bad!' flair.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd beat FO2 with the big guns build, woo! Its actually surprising how far you can get into the game with minimal combat skills.

New playthrough of FO2 is going really well. Basically made a build that is non-viable for combat, so I had to rely on Sulik for the heavy lifting most of the time. But now I have myself a Bozar, 194% big guns skill, and a dream. Once I get sniper and the more-shots perk, I will be indestructible.

Another issue with power armor as FO4 depicts it, is user size, it has no flexibility for particularly tall or short characters. Not great for roleplaying purposes and incredibly silly if it's actually for military service. If it's a more advanced 'suit' you have to put on, you could assume it...

Nobody said that though, the arms have visible frames to boost strength on them, which presumably can have plates attached to them. The ingame sprite lacks these for simplicity and readability purposes. Same reason why your head is magically shrunken when you wear combat armor ingame.

Nope, it's basically a teaser for FO2, it was supposed to be an event where you fight lobotomites with a BoS member saving you from them. Edit: So it wouldn't make any sense for a pre-war depiction of BoS.

It looks relatively man portable in the loading screen though. :V

Somehow multiple BoS members in T-51b got killed in The Glow, despite the only threats present being armed with assault rifles, sniper rifles and the occasional shotgun. Maybe the robots with supernatural accuracy targeted the joints? It mentions somebody's arm flew off with burning flesh...

Oh yeah, right, T-45d (minus servos) are also man portable in NV.

FO1-2 let you throw it in your inventory and while very heavy, it's portable, frame, fusion power and all.

Their crit/high damage kills are cutting people in half (for lasers) and turning them into meat-slime (plasma) though. Or turning people to ash with pulse weapons/alien guns.

Yeah that bothers me as well, they're technologically advanced as to have power armor, but their firearms are glorified raider-tier?! In FO1 they basically always have miniguns, or gatling lasers, maybe an RPG sprinkled in.

I mean apparently power armor is man-portable, so it cannot be 'too' heavy.

You should play Fallout 1. Or 2.

Except 5mm vs .223 vs other munitions are roughly in proportion with each other. :V Yes, actually, because 7.62 in Fallout is a really shit round. .223 outcompetes it, especially when fired out of the .223 Pistol. You don't even know how FO1-2 works, the argument was won before it was started...

Oh jeez let me put it this way... The FAL does 9-18 damage with 7.62x51 Basic bitch hunting rifle does 8-20 damage with .223 Therefore we have to assume that 7.62 is a very weak loading or that Fallout .223 is bubbas hot loads. Either or, .308 is later depicted as being stronger than .223, so...

.308 in context of Fallout, isn't 7.62x51. For whatever reason while they share the same cartridge case, .308 is the military version while 7.62x51 is an older form of the cartridge. Think... 7.63×25mm Mauser vs 7.62×25mm Tokarev.
