How is that better than this: https://www.walmart.com/ip/60S-0-1S-Mechanical-Chronometer-Physics-Teaching-Instrument-Equipment/2383210032 Ha! the link getting "Robot or human?" for something on sale for $25 at Walmart is hilarious.

.50 BMG (also called 12.7x99mm NATO) is the big one on the left: .22LR is the tiny one on the right.

I'd prefer a blunderbuss over a 12-gauge if I only had enough time for one shot at close range. A 1-yard diameter cloud of shot and smoke 10 yards downrange is not a joke.

Sometimes the local hunting regulations prohibit using any firearm that's not a muzzle loader. An 1861 Springfield or 1853 Enfield runs around $900 or more. Those are mostly of interest to reenactors, collectors, and history buffs. Modern muzzle loaders can be had for $200-$300. The linked...

An angry prepubescent child with good aim who just picked up a pebble can kill or seriously injure you from a distance. There's a reason baseball rules say that wearing a helmet is mandatory when you're standing in the batter's box.

I'm pretty sure California would consider the plastic spoon in your car's cupholder which you got as part of a fast-food lunch drive-through order to be "an illegal lethal weapon".

Good gods ... That something like that was even offered for sale makes the 10rd magazines I had to settle for during college because the 13rd magazines my sidearm was designed for were illegal in Missouri 20-25yrs ago look sane and reasonable.

We bring my parents' dog when we go camping. Stuff inevitably gets lost and a coyote isn't going to irritate an Irish Wolfhound several times its size.

A Tanegeshima can remove limbs in ways that the Winchester model 1897 "street sweeper" 12-gauge pump-action shotguns Lucille's great-great grandfather's unit used to clear trenches during WWI couldn't.

Um ... "armour piercing" was the entire point of a bodkin. "A knight's extremely expensive body armour is worthless" was what those prooved. Soldiers pretty much ditched body armour during the late-Medieval/early Renaissance.

Duh. The Tanegeshima has a 22mm bore. While it doesn't have "rifle range" it's going to hurt when it does hit. Modern air-superiority fighters typically have a single 20mm cannon and about 80-100 rounds.

You shared an article about gun barrel degregation. This is a known issue people have been taking into consideration for centuries.

The barrels of WWII-era battleship guns needed to be relined or replaced after a battleship gunfight. This was planned for and expected.

Maybe. Bodkins are armour-piercing. Broadheads are not. I really wouldn't want to be hit by either and neither would you.
