Election 2020 Bernie Rally interrupted by blood-throwing anti-milk activists

Apparently it was fake blood, however, it just goes to show that no matter how far to the left you are, the crazies want to dance at your expense.

As Sanders spoke to his supporters at a rally in Carson City, a group of women, some topless, taking part in a demonstration organized by the animal rights group Direct Action Everywhere stormed the stage. The group, an international grassroots network founded in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2013, often stages similar non-violent disruptive protests with animal rights activists.

"Bernie I'm your biggest supporter and I'm here to ask you to stop propping up the dairy industry and stop propping up animal agriculture," said Priya Sawhney, one of the protesters after attempting to wrestle away Sanders' microphone. Sanders pulled the mic away and she quickly used another on the podium.

Fun things include the news-media uncritically repeating the idea that it is "non violent" to storm the stage and throw fake blood around and steal the mic, and of course the charming fact that everyone involved is apparently a Bernie supporter, but thinks he isn't going far enough, and that these antics will somehow help him. "Direct Action Everywhere" might as well be a dummy stereotype of a right-wing joke of what a left-wing organisation is, but don't worry, it really exists.

What we're looking at here is a group of people who take anthropomorphism well beyond the point of sanity, and have little to no empathy for other human beings; to them, animals appear more human than other humans. These people are utterly disconnected from reality, but ultimately irrelevant. The story isn't that these nut jobs are nut jobs; but rather that Bernie doesn't have the spine to stand up to people like them. I shudder to think of what having a coward like him as president would do to this country.

Funny thing about being an 'advocate for animal rights.' The animals have no ability to actually speak up and tell you you're wrong, you're crazy, or anything similar.

Bernie didn't have Secret Service to bear these anticitizens insensate as soon as they approached our Dear Leader? 😢

I find that most "advocates" couldn't care less about the opinions of those they're supposedly advocating for, whether they're capable of expressing any or not.

I'm guessing Bernie might've been too busy taking the chance to see some boobly-bobblies to order the suppression of protestors.
Good advertising for him too. Finally gets him some attention instead of all that (negative) press that's been dropping on Bloomberg. And 'boobs!' always makes for an attention-grabbing news story.

We should probably be asking the question of whether or not this was an organized assassination attempt by anti-communist CIA operatives or something, though. A man Bernie's age with a heart-attack in the recent past getting multiple pairs of glistening-wet sweater-puppies thrown in his face? That's the kind've thing that could futz with the guy's blood pressure!

More seriously, the protestors cause doesn't really make sense. I mean, I can see the point behind not subsidizing dairy, because the US does weird things there because the Farm Bill in general is a bunch of legacy-code garbage nobody wants to mess with because corporate concerns can present any attempt as a politician trying to foreclose on some stereotypical mom & pop farm (and, really, some changes might do that because, who would've guessed, tax law is a cluster). But wanting dairy to die and 'animal rights'? That's silliness just going to end with cows (and other species) going extinct because we've bred the things for years and years to specific purpose within our own orbit and use--and losing species isn't a cool, pro-animal or environment principle--mankind and animals exist together, unquestionably influence each other, and animals deserve respect and care (perhaps more than many currently have and policies might negatively impact that), but humanity takes priority.

I think I saw a picture or maybe it was another one where uncle Bernie stood face to face with someone with exposed tits. It's a memorable picture.

Is he thinking to himself he campaigned just for people like that person?

You know how PETA kills most of the animals they supposedly "save"? That's the sort of activist we're likely dealing with here; the sort that's only in it for their own ego (although some, mostly the higher-ups, are also in it for the money). As long as they can paint themselves as "heroes" on social media, nothing else matters to them.

I'm not a fan of PETA, but a) PETA is quite public about its shelters being kill shelters, and advertises about it on their website, and b) there is actually a reasonable explanation for why PETA kills so many animals. Basically, PETA will take animals other shelters refuse to take (usually because those shelters are no-kill shelters), and then euthanizes them. They claim to believe in ethical treatment, which (in their opinion) includes humanely euthanizing animals they cannot care for. Basically, they serve as a shelter of last resort. Like any organization, it has problems, and they occasionally screw this up, but they are quite public about their shelters being kill-shelters.

Man, this site weird me out. I have defended Soros, then Bernie, and now PETA. WTF? I think I need to re-establish that I dislike all 3 of these people/organizations.

I remember some guy on SB or QQ talking about it when I mentioned it

He tried justifying it with some link that said “Why we euthenize”

I think supposedly the majority of their animals were all extremely diseased and suffering and incurable

Here, let me help you with that:

This is what PETA does, in addition to supposedly taking in animals from other shelters; kidnap pets, just to kill them.

Yeah, I also mentioned what happened to Maya, the response I got was “what happened to Maya was tragic BUT the majority of ones they euthenize are like extremely unhealthy and unsalvageable” or something

My response would have been "can you prove that with anything other than assertions from PETA?"

Ok we clearly need to have the secret service out there protecting people even in the primaries.

I know this seems funny to people and some people are laughing but the fact that this happened shows that we need to have security for this level of presidential running because this could have easily been a bomb, a knifing or a deadly attack. I don't like Bernies policies at all but that this happens shows that we need to up our security.

How’s Bernie feeling about the sudden weird as hell interruption atm?

Are we sure these were real activists and not fakers, like the person who spoke up at an AOC rally talking about the need to eat babies, and then the Larouche PAC of all people took credit for staging that?
Is it that bad I can't tell the difference?

Like the next rally Bernie gets to interact with communist wannabes who dress and act like one calling Sanders comrade?
