Movies Regal Theater Shuts Down

I'm more bummed that it's theater chains that are closing down and not Hollywood itself though. Those guys can still subsist on streaming and home media and shit like that. Sure you have some big chains like AMC and Regal and whatever, but there's a fair number of small ones as well. I'm not particularly celebratory of this because I'm not sure how much it'll harm the big media and Hollywood studios in the long run despite being a death knell for cinemas.

Yeah, theater chains were generally the one part of the entertainment business that actually served local communities. They served as traditional date spots, and group activities, they offered starting employment to a lot of people in a community. That they are going under is actually more tragic.
