One of the most iconic and uplifting songs of all time and it was featured (covered by other artists) in films like Cool Runnings and Thelma & Louise. Along with his musical career, which largely peaked in the 1960's, Johnny Nash was actually a big fan of horseback riding and owned a ranch in Texas as well as operated his own rodeo shows. He was also a mentor to the legendary singer Bob Marley. He died of natural causes in his hometown of Houston, Texas.

I remember listening to his songs when riding with my father in his car (a '77 T -bird) a lot, they'd come on the radio on dad's favourite oldies station. RIP.

his family has my sympathies but 80 years is a good solid amount of time on this earth, he lived a good life, had a good run and did a lot of good with the time he had, its a life well lived.
