Putting aside the fact that most Mexicans would not appreciate being conquered, making Mexico a state would make the occupations in the Middle East look easy.

Mexico's problems wouldn't suddenly disappear, they'd just become the United States' problems.

How do you fix the standard of living? Government programs? Well, that money has to come from somewhere, and that probably will mean the current US will subsidize them heavily. So, good luck with that.

The cartels won't go away instantly, either. The federal government would have to deal with them (again, money and effort). Never mind that those same cartels, along with other gangs and mafias already operate within the USA currently. So how would the USA invading Mexico do anything but spread the USA so thin that the Cartels would have more power?

Also, dealing with the cartels/ occupying Mexico means you’d either have to massively increase the size of the US military in terms of materials and soldiers in uniform (good luck with that) or massively shift support away from the USA’s shadow-empire overseas. Which is unthinkable you, and every neo-con and other politician in the pockets of the military industrial complex.

The illegal immigrant problem, even, wouldn't disappear, it'd just change. There still would not be as good of economic opportunities in Mexico, but now all the Mexicans looking for better lives could legally migrate north. Congrats, you’ve just made the problem 50-times worse and given the Democrats even more voters to appeal to.

Nope. They changed their rules a little while ago. If Biden drops out past a certain point they just get to put whoever they want in as the nominee. No debates or primaries. Just whoever they want. No input from the public needed. I'm sure whoever it is was decided a long time ago.

It's been speculated for ages that Biden will have a bad fall or something close to the election and then someone else is running without anything known about them at all. No time for scandals or any need to try and tell people their positions.

Liberals and left wingers across the world are having less children and across the entire planet the birth rate is plumiting. Even Africa the last region with sustainable demographics are seeing massive reductions of children. Across the entire planet the only people having children at a sustainable rate are rural and religous populations.

The immigrants their bringing in concentrate in urban areas were the issues of population rate are just as bad.

We are looking at humanities population most likely cutting itself in half this century, so yes in the long run its going to happen here. Its just a matter of how much damage these guys do before their removed.

More importantly, the power brokers in the party /like/ having Biden in the Oval office. He has no demonstrated ability to make any independent choices of his own, and simply acts as a well-dressed mouthpiece for whatever they want.

If they push anyone else forward at the convention, in addition to all the other issues, they have the risk of losing control of executive branch policy. That is not a risk they will want to take, especially given that several of the (self envisioned) current power brokers seem likely to be part of the administration itself. I doubt Mrs. Biden, Garland, Binky/Blinky/whatever-the-hell-his-name-is-at-State, or any of the rest are eager to have someone new come in and replace them or bring them to heel. Right now, they run the show however they want.
