It's 2024 and progressives are demanding it, so make your guess...
If GW wanted to make an extra buck or few millions they could start trying to compete with Japan for the spicier part of the market with the assassins, the dark eldar, various gangers and so on, if they wanted to be a bit more tasteful they could also bring up more noblewomen with 40k's gothic inspired style (being nobles they have the excuse of being inherently important enough to bring up, and it would serve as good cosplayer bait speaking of women who may be interested in 40k), but we both know they would prefer not to do that, this is about virtue signalling to a particular segment of the audience who even if it's interested in "female representation" is not so much interested in the kind of females the typical man would find attractive, and who care more about their out of 40k politics being represented in the lore than about 40k lore.

That's the issue people have.
Why not focus on the other factions?
Like, the SoB...

For me one of the appealing features of Adepta Sororitas minis was them wearing FLAT SOLED BOOTS, not heels, and actual armour without Tittilating Tassels of Intimitadion or boob-windows of any sort.

SoB on account of the lore, some have a point, are something to be enjoyed by people deeper into 40k lore, for the average zoomer the religious fanatic aspect is not very relatable.
But yeah, there are other factions with non-controversial female representation as mentioned, then again, no one cares because there's no controversy and no excuse for STRONK queer looking women. Normal looking women in power armor just don't fit that virtue signalling zeitgeist.

Well the retarded argument thrown around was that they want women who are also STRONK without power armor too.
Could have went with the classic of psyker inquisitor then, or an assassin, who don't have power armor but are so augmented and trained that they are scary in melee to nearly everyone even without it. Female assassins are a fiction classic and we have many examples in all sorts of media of that archetype being marketable.
But as i said, all the excuses point to the desire to shove androgynous "queer representation" in.

Sisters of Battle = Female Space Marines. Sisters of Silence= Female Custodes.
