So yeah, now the Dems are showing how truly desperate they are to get rid of Trump and keep anyone like him from getting into the White House, ever again.

Edit: They plan to use the 25th to try to oust Trump, and use it to 'vet' all further candidates for POTUS so only 'approved' people end up on the ballot.

The democrats haven't stepped back and put into any thought of how this kind of use of the 25th amendment would backfire on them have they? Like any thought at all.

Of course not, their ideology is permanently ascendant, yadda yadda yadda, and they aren't given to any long-term considerations.

Ideally they'd want Biden for 2 years, since a given person can be POTUS for a maximum of 10. You can be elected twice for 4 years each and serve up to 2 additional years if as VP you replace the President.

That said in theory I rather approve of this proposal, though it's obviously being used for partisan reasons here I think it's a sound idea to have the President get regular physical and mental checks and remove a President who shows signs of dementia or mental illness. Obviously this would need a lot of checks and balances to keep it from becoming another tool to browbeat the opposing party with but again, in theory I think it's a sound idea.

With something as obvious as significant mental decline, you do not need a formalized system. The President is constantly interacting with people, they'd be able to tell.

Unfortunately, with our current political system I don't see how it could avoid being perverted from its theoretical purpose, and turned into a partisan political weapon. All it would really take is for them to define mental illness as not being politically aligned with whomever controls this proposed body, and that would be that.

Honestly, trying to hide his obvious senility and/or dementia and occasionally trying to throw that at Drumpf is amongst the most pathetic moves I've ever seen

Hell, I don't think the average Lefty even believes he's "there" or even liked him in the first place

This whole 25th amendment thing is definitely meant for Biden imo.
I originally thought it was an attempt to lay the groundwork for ousting Trump in his second term, by declaring him mentally unfit to be President. Who knows, maybe it's multipurpose in design.

It is definitely a multipurpose design. Keep in mind that Progressives are de-facto Communists, and what did Communists tend to do? Declare their political / ideological opponents "mentally unfit" and lock them up in mental institutions. This is literally the same thing.
