Media/Journalism Cringe Megathread - Hot off the Presses

Urabrask Revealed

I actually pointed that out pretty early on to some of them, including the fact that one of the people who participated in that attack had her sentence commuted by Clinton and has since gone on to be a leader in the BLM movement. Naturally, they don't care, and "but no one was hurt" became the typical response.
Oh, so I can parade a primed bomb through San Francisco or Los Angelos while expressing my hate for minorities, but that's ok because "no one was hurt"? Then again, the feelings of whites don't matter, those of minorities do.

You're talking about a group that was saying "all cops are bastards," right up until the NYT falsely reported that a Capitol police officer had been killed by pro-Trump protestors. They also don't care that an unarmed woman got shot and killed by the police, because she had wrongthink and in their minds deserved it.

Apparently the BBC interviewed (via radio) a fake Cory Booker. Cory "Spartacus" Booker of course is the East Coast Democratic Senator and failed Presidential Candidate in the latest Democratic Primary. Sadly I haven't been able to find the audio anywhere since it was only aired once on BBC and apparently no one watches that channel or something.

I don't like mega threads for reasons like this.

Plus we are a small forum, having a bunch of threads instead of a mega thread doesn't hurt.

But before I go too off topic I'll just leave it there

I've pruned other discussions off of this thread (and other megathreads) before. People shouldn't feel intimidated in opening new threads if they think the topic is worthy of discussion on its own merits. This thread is more for citing examples of terrible journalism in general as opposed to a news aggregation style thread (which people were treating it as for a while). The CPAC Runic Stage conspiracy was well worth its own thread I feel.

Some of us are kind of on egg shells from past forum experiences.

I appreciate you clarifying and reassuring the members that it's okay.

A long time ago... back in November of 2020, CNN's Christiane Amanpour compared the Trump Presidency to Kristallnacht, the 1938 pogrom against Jewish people perpetrated by the Nazi regime but with the participation of large numbers of radicalized German neighbors and citizens that is often considered the 'starting point' of the Holocaust.

Christiane Amanpour said:
This week 82 years ago, Kristallnacht happened. It was the Nazis’ warning shot across the bow of our human civilization that led to genocide against a whole identity, and in that tower of burning books, it led to an attack on fact, knowledge, history and truth. After four years of a modern-day assault on those same values by Donald Trump, the Biden-Harris team pledges a return to norms, including the truth.

Thankfully she made an on-air apology for egregiously comparing modern day politics to Nazi Germany in an explicit manner and thus all was forgiven and allowing later journalists and public officials like Presidents to continue to make the Nazi analogies in the weeks to come.

Learning to code is sooo five years ago. The current hotness pipeline and oilfield workers got from media was to transition into building solar panels.

Winter is coming
Spring is here

Huffington Post is a garbage news source anyways. It's up there with Buzzfeed and, like...Well, Buzzfeed is the really bad one I can think of...In producing schlocky clickbait bullshit about 'the 27 most insane daytime gameshow moments ever!' Only maybe Huffington does it for politics and fashion and shit instead.
So it's even more insufferable.

Lets be honest here, the only other job they are qualified for is what they used to get their job in the first place: prostitution.
Ehh, I could see them just spreading out to other far left fake news sites.

Wapo, vox, slate, they aren't exactly beacons of journalistic integrity.

Indeed. It's not like they won't just continue doing what they do at similar places if they can. You expect them to do something productive instead of being a stain on the cause of "journalism"? They'll continue expelling their bad takes and bitter, twisted opinions and vapid thoughts for new paymasters.
