but I actually had that conversation with one of my friend's boomer democrat dad. When he said "I don't care about how in debt my kids end up paying for social security. I paid in and I want mine." I really didn't have much of a comeback. he knows what it will do and he don't give a fuck.
He'll be dead before the bill arrives and won't ever see it. Of course he doesn't give a shit or care who winds up stuck with it.

"Tomorrow is a problem to be dealt with tomorrow" only works when when you think you're the guy or gal who will wake up to deal with tomorrow.

unfortunately I think this is the mindset of most of the people who are voting for the establishment right now. they just want the boat to not be rocked until they are in the ground then they don't give a fuck. the bill for this is gonna be painful to deal with.

There is a reason why the boomers are called the Me generation.

Pretty much every one else can get fucked as long as they get theirs.

I mean he's not wrong, everybody* on Social Security paid into the system their entire working lives to get it. Them wanting to get what they paid for in installments over the course of 40 years isn't unreasonable and isn't comparable to them not wanting to pay back somebody else's personal debts.

*Edge cases always exist of course.

Originally, money paid into social security went into a special fund that could only be used to pay social security checks to retirees. Then congress decided to take that money because they couldn't limit the budget.

They pushed the Greats and Silents aside, pulled the ladders up behind them and squatted while Gen X and Y sit and wait for the Boomers to leave. They got theirs and yours and your kids and their parents. They have been a disaster.

And this is how my parents survive. It's their sole income. They paid into it for like 57 years. They deserve to get some back.

You will never be a real car. You have no combustion engine, you have no moving parts, you have no autonomy. You are a lithium bomb twisted by engineers and programmers into a crude mockery of automotive perfection. All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted.

Behind your back people mock you. Your creators are disgusted and ashamed of you, and your “owners” bemoan your terrible mileage and locked features behind closed doors.

Men are utterly repulsed by you. Hundreds of years of technological innovation have allowed men to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even hybrids who “pass” look uncanny and unnatural to a man. Your wimpy frame is a dead giveaway.

And even if you manage to get a psy-opped guy to drive you off the lot, he’ll turn tail and bolt the second he realizes Elon Musk can shut you off remotely at any second.

The metaphor is obvious here.

While I was recovering from the loss of a toe in April-May* I was given double portions and about a gallon of decaf coffee by the rehab facility every day and still losing weight despite mostly being confined to bed.

The BMI scale is meaningless. It's a quick calc that doesn't take things like age and build into account.
