The funny thing to me is, this appears to just be a "Screw White People, they didn't build that empire they claim!" conspiracy theory that misses on every level. It's far more impressive if "white people" managed to bury millions of artifacts, construct ruins all over two continents, set up a precursor language to all the Romance Languages that's internally consistent, and edit every single history record including stuff like oral traditions, in order to pretend Rome existed than for Rome to have existed in the first place.

Yeah...

Honestly, if black and brown people had their illustrious history "appropriated by whites" as the Afrocentrists claim, then it begs the question of why whites got away with appropriating their history in the first place? Because if nonwhite societies commanded such power and greatness before Europeans arrived, then it shouldn't be so easy for whites shunt them aside and take credit for all the stuff nonwhite societies (supposedly) came up with. Clearly, that's not the case.

(Although, in fairness, there were quite a few non-Europeans—China, Egypt, Persia, the Mongols—who built mighty civilizations long before the Age of Exploration got started. So, if honest historians want Western audiences to start acknowledging them more... then sure, I can get behind that.)

Perhaps white people really *are* superior to black and brown people. When literal cavemen can btfo a space-traveling, one-with-nature, literal-magic-using, superhuman civilization, then maybe said civilized people were not as badass as their "descendants" constantly claim.

Conspiracy theories get wierd.

As for white superiority? The only thing skin tone should tell you about someone is what type of climate they're most comfortable in. A pasty-white blue-eyed blonde from Scandinavia will likely be miserable in the Sahara desert (sunburn at the drop of a hat) while someone from the Sahara probably won't enjoy the Arctic around Christmas.

I didn't really think it was an argument in the first place.

"You're WRONG!" with a whole bunch dick waving is where you're going. With that we might as well just pull them and a tape measure out to compare sizes and save time.

........... But, not in a gay way, right?

Right?

The Southern African country of Botswana has a metal scene, which apparently isn't too metal... but looks pretty metal.

Salva Kiir, the President of South Sudan, was gifted a Black Cowboy Stetson by US President George W. Bush back in 2006. He's bought several since then and is almost always pictured wearing one.

Looks like it was a pretty good choice of a gift.

Continuing this vein... country style line dancing is apparently somewhat popular in Southern African countries during special events along with the whole Country/Western aesthetic.

It's a whole thread exploring the phenomena of Country Music intersecting with South African culture. Interesting read.

Once they make some good/cringe African-Western movies I'll be on board.

Land's End, Cornwall to John o' Groats, Scotland is only 874mi by car and you need to board a ferry to go further.

St. Louis, Missouri to Elizabeth City, North Carolina is only 957mi by car.

London to Moscow ain't shit to an American because stuff like Paris to Brussels and back can be an "I'm bored" day trip.
