So, did a touch more digging and found some more prompts from the book. Here's a list of problematic ones:
  • Choose how you will die.
  • Write a scene that begins: ‘It was the first time I killed a man.’
  • Describe your favorite part of a man’s body using only verbs.
  • You have a dream that you’ve murdered someone. Who is it, how and why did the murder happen, and what happens afterward?
  • You are a serial killer. What TV shows are on your DVR list? Why?
  • Write a sex scene you wouldn’t show your mom.
  • You have just been caught in bed by a jealous spouse. How will you talk your way out of this?
  • Write a sermon for a beloved preacher who has been caught in a sex scandal.
  • Describe a time when you wanted to orgasm but couldn’t.
  • Ten euphemisms for sex.
  • Write a letter from the point of view of a drug addict.
  • Drink a beer. Write about the taste.
  • Write an X-rated Disney scenario.
  • The first time you had sex.

What's written in the book itself probably isn't illegal because that's a very difficult legal hurdle for a prosecutor to clear.

What someone does with what was written down is an entirely different matter and where the problems reside.

The bolded aren't that bad. The first 2 are a bit morbid, but not a bad writing prompt for highschoolers. And the third is actually a nice exploration of an unreliable narrator.

The answer to the first prompt should always be: "After a long, happy, and fulfilling life, surrounded by loving family and friends, accepted of my imminent demise, and prepared to join my wife in the afterlife."

The state of american education in one teacher rant.

"The MAGA are horrible! The are conspiracy theorists! They think Trump shouldn't have been kicked off twitter! That the Texas Abortion law is good and that liberals are panickong over Covid! I am scared they will bring guns to school since that is legal and then they will kill me over bad grades!"

Why?
It is about being creative. I wouldn't give them points off for it, but creativity matters.
Being cookie cutter would be against it, and more in line with what the left keeps pushing.
Less creativity, more indoctrination

"I wish to die a righteous and just death, embodying my ideals as a hero or martyr; regretful not the least as I walk into the rising fires with my head held high. I wish for my death to mean something to someone, somewhere. Something good, golden and shining in the night."

But not letting people be creative have also caused what we have today
Remember what happend when a guy was denied into an art school in Austria?
I've seen some of that guy's artwork. I'd rate as "the upper half of average of what you'd find at a community arts fair". In other words: it's the kind of thing you wouldn't object to hanging on a wall in your home to decorate it that's unobtrusive and just sorta there.

I really want to know what school she teaches at that allows the students to carry firearms.
