Well his ass sobered up and apologized for how he reacted, though he was so drunk he doesn't remember telling me to shut the fuck up.

I am still offering to help him, but I did not thank him for the apology and said an standing my ground on what happened.

Maybe this will wake him up to how much of an ass he can be when he gets drinking heavily. Motherfucker already has DUIs in multiple states, and keeps acting like a 16 year old gangbanger when he gets off the rig.

You seem to have an awful lot of patience, then. I doubt I'd be as willing to tolerate that if I were in a similar position (especially given my urge to snap back at people who shout "STFU!" for no reason).

Anyway, best of luck waking him up. Hopefully, he reigns in his drinking habits and learns you're not to be taken for granted on a fundamental (rather than just intellectual) level. But if he refuses to change for the better, well...

It less patience, more that he's one of the very few offline friends I have that hasn't effectively ghosted me over supporting Trump and calling out the Dems/Biden's BS.

I've tried to get him to reign in his drinking and pride shit before, but he is about 15 years older than me, and really doesn't treat me very seriously and usually just tells me I need to be more like him.
