Any. F-15A/B/C/D/E, F-16A/B/C/D, F-18A/B/C/D/E/F. The only ones I can think of that would come anywhere close to challenging Rafale are EA-18G and F-15SE.

It is a good fighter, though I'd say it is overall slightly inferior to Rafale (which being designed as a multirole carrier aircraft from the outset is easier to adjust to multiple roles and to battlefield conditions). Definitely far better than any US teen fighters or anything Russia can...

That is what I meant, actually: both Gripen and its support elements were designed to operate from road bases. And plane matters as well: more support plane requires, more stuff you have to haul along with it, and that automatically makes it less mobile.

And that is what matters with Gripen: it has been designed for road basing. There is a difference between "taking off from a road" and "operating from a road base". Of course, that will hardly help if the Communist government cuts off your parts supplies because you are fighting their brethren...
