Since somehow no one bothered to make a thread about it.

The 2020 State of the Union is going on right now. What are your thoughts?

It was amazing. Two best moments is when Trump refuses to shake Pelosi's hand at the start and she looks surprised. Then at the end when she rips up his speech. She literally took a couple of a pages at a time and ripped them during the half minute of applause. I think she was a bit salty. Just a bit.

On a side note it looked like she tried to complain to Pence at least three times during the speech. Probably annoyed Trump is taking sole credit for a lot of the successes like the USMCA. Honestly it was a good speech where Trump kept delivering jab after jab. Contrasting his successes compared to past administrations and talking about seniors and the threat to their health care. The happiness on the Republican side was quite high, even Mitch looked a bit excited at some points. Democrats were struggling not to clap for anything. They started off unified in not clapping, but by the end you can see some clapping or standing for things that were fairly broad.

I saw what Pelosi did. Wow...just....WOW. Then again, it's not completely unexpected considering her behavior as of late.

As much as I don't personally like Trump, I would have done the same thing he did and ignored the hag, I just wish he would have ripped her during the SOTU speech like she ripped those papers, though she looked more like a toddler having a temper tantrum doing that.

As for the SOTU speech itself....meh, it's a speech. He didn't go off the rails in any way, so that's good. Even better, the Republicans look pretty damn energized and even McConnell had a smile on his face, how often does that happen?

All in all, this impeachment crap along with the timing of the Iowa debacle could not have backfired more horribly for the Democrats. Pelosi is finished, and she knows it. The Squad and their friends are coming for her and Schumer's heads.

BTW, the grim/glum looks of the Democrats in that audience were the biggest highlight of the whole speech IMO.:ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO:

I thought it was a pretty good speech. A good idea of what's to come. I'm almost disappointed he didn't nail the Democrats about impeachment and Iowa, but I suppose the State of the Union shouldn't be a place where you continuously roast your political opponents.

The Pelosi ripping the speech is hilariously petty. Basically a symbol of impotent rage against President Trump and the DNC's failures and incompetency as of late. If, somehow, at the next SOTU, if Pelosi and Trump are still in their positions of power, I fully expect Trump to laminate the speech or do something similar.

To be entirely fair from what I've seen of that clip, he didn't shake Pence's hand either at the time so chances are he wasn't intending to shake anyone's hand and Pelosi decided to try anyway and got rebuffed. Though considering how Pelosi and friends have acted over the years I doubt Trump is too upset about snubbing her and receiving support for it.

A penny for your thoughts?

Merely speculation. But, likely something to do with inappropriate conduct with Turkey or something to that effect.

By chance do you listen to Dan Bongino? I just started to and it's been eye opening to say the least.

I haven’t listened to his podcast yet but I may start doing that. I’ve seen him before on Fox, The man seems pretty level headed and is a beast to boot, being former Secret Service also helps.

I think you may be right about Turkey/Syria, but who knows. I was thinking they may try to implicate him in some sexual harassment crap like they did with Kavanaugh but seeing as how that whole campaign went up in smoke I kind of doubt it.

War and politics both make for strange bedfellows, as they say. That plus the old adage, “the enemy of my enemy...”
