Honestly? After that mess I'm surprised the LONAW wasn't more anti-Minbari than anti-Centuari. Sure, the Centuari were imperialist thugs who colonized, occupied, and exploited their worlds for centuries, but the Minbari were right there threatening to genocide them all if they tried to help the people who saved them from the Dilgar.

Would you rather be conquered by Roman Empire or Chinese Empire? Because you know one side values slaves and servants more in principle, rather than genocide whole tribes just to prove a point that you can never defy Divine Kingdom.

You wouldn't believe how much goodwill defeating the Shadows gave the Minbari, largely because that particular war still all but exterminated quite a few races. Many of them became part of the Minbari Protectorate. That's just how brutal the last Shadow War was.
And you know what? Who aside from those Protectorate races and the Yolu, are old enough to care. The Hyach are one of the oldest League races and they have been in space for only 800 years, 200 years short of the last Shadow War.

That’s the issue with the idea that the Minbari have good will from the last Shadow War. So few races surviving from that time means that only so many races are old enough to appreciate what the Minbari did.

All the younger races that have popped up over the centuries since have very few reasons to care about the Minbari’s role in some poorly recorded old legends, and a lot of reasons to fear the Minbari for their actions over the last millennium.

Amazing story, I found the start of his on fan fiction.net and followed it to here thanks to some people in the reviews stating it was here. I enjoyed both your Dilgar War and this fan fiction was a delight to read. I looked forward to this AU continuing having the Dilgar still around seems to have changed much in the B5 timeline and look forward to where you take this in future stories.
