Anime Games REMOVED from Steam! Anime and Manga BAN Continues!

Several volumes of the 'No Game No Life' light novels are now ILLEGAL to sell or even import in Australia, thanks to Omega Karen Connie Bonaros. Expect the ban on manga and anime to escalate in the coming months, as manga is growing in popularity and being blamed for all of society's ills... despite there being ZERO evidence to support that.

Curse all the damn normies.

Remember those scenes of Nazis burning books? They did it by taking advantage of a law and applying it to something other than its intended target.

The law was an anti-pornography one.

For what it's worth, the anime community is at least in a better position here in America than some communities I could name; like the tokusatsu community, for example. Nearly everyone I have ever encountered who's a fan of the medium and has any significant presence on the internet, barring a scant few outliers, is a raging SJW who believes that Trump is the source of all evil, and that the Japanese are a primitive culture that needs to be "enlightened".

Seriously, they love Super Sentai, and Kamen Rider, and all the rest; but for some reason, that love does not often carry over to the Japanese themselves, outside of a downright condescending desire to "fix" them. And while this mindset is prevalent amongst many self-proclaimed "otaku" in our anime community as well, and least is isn't damn near universal as it appears to be in our tokusatsu community.

Here's a crackdown on the Japanese side. Where will people go to watch their favorite violent 80's OVA's now?
More concerning is Sony's attempt to get a stranglehold on Anime distribution.

Losing KissAnime and KissManga isn't that important in the grand scheme of things; there are much better sites out there that serve the same purpose, and personally I'd recommend downloading torrents if you're looking to pirate anime and/or manga anyways. At the very least, it's better than letting whoever runs these sites turn a profit off of you by selling ad space.

Wait, you mean most Anime Communities are full of raging Far Left SJW types? Online or Offline?

Man, they've really managed to take over the spaces of nerds, the ones who refuse conversion probably end up bullied out of the area

The SJWs appeared to have taken over the western anime community almost completely many years ago; it's only been recently that people willing to stand against them have been coming out of the woodwork, and carving out a place for like-minded individuals who are actually fans of anime, and not insane activists first and foremost. Just look up the recent drama involving r/Animemes banning the word "trap" to see how that's been working out for the former overlords; membership has dropped by over a hundred thousand in about a week, while the new subreddit r/GoodAnimemes created in response has almost hit 150k subscribers:

What made them think banning “Trap” was a good idea to begin with?

It’s really popular term and fetish to begin with

Hubris mostly; they assumed they had as much control over the anime community as they once did, and never noticed that they were losing their grip on it.

From what I know, they post on r/traa or something, that was where the idea came from

To begin with, I don’t think Trannies are even offended by “trap” to begin with

Some are, some aren't; though mostly, those who are tend to be what many refer to as "trans-trenders", i.e. people who lie and assert a trans identity for SJW cred.

To be fair there are real fincial benefits to becoming trans.

If your male and having trouble finding work try changing your ID to say female. I garentee you will get a lot more call backs.

Oh, lovely. They've sent me a mo-ron.

Step in the right direction?

Especially when there's an unwoke job site who want no wokes to come work.

Time for a new round of anime game censorship on Steam! I think we can safely say their promise to not do this crap anymore was a load of bunk; and if they're dead set on censoring games based solely on their art style? Then I find myself even more justified in boycotting Steam, which I have done for many years at this point.

It's weird that Steam is banning games despite also having an NSFW game section that they rather prominently announced out.

Does anyone think these games will move to GOG?

Potentially though for many weebs it will be a sad day since GOG apparently censors games that Steam doesn't.

Knowing Japanese visual novels and the Steam guidelines for such games, I don't feel bad for them, because the most likely reason they were rejected was because of intentionally dubiously underage girls.

This has nothing to do with the art style.

This also has less to do with any mandated censorship on Steams part and more to do with the fact that there Steam is a very small company in terms of the number of employees. Probably 500 at most.

So they have maybe 10 people handling all the analysis on which games are breaking the rules and which aren't, along with a couple of lawyers they can call and ask advice on if a liability issue comes up. Since there are only 10 people, which person you get handling your game is a really big deal.

Then I find myself even more justified in boycotting Steam, which I have done for many years at this point.

Also, I find this an incredibly toxic and standard leftist view of thinking. Some company does one thing you disagree with, time to boycott?

You do realize Steam is probably one of the few places one can be openly conservative? I have friends that post reviews criticizing games for SJW views or content, they get either ambivalence or support.

The reality is that VN content is itself primarily left wing on Steam, Steam is incredibly friendly towards conservatives (and those who want to speak their mind in general), I don't see why y'all feel the need to feel outrage about them banning a bunch of trash (and probably extremely degenerate and possibly literally illegal because CP) VNs. Very leftist of you.

Edit: Also, boycotting Steam for censorship is ridiculously because literally everyone else censors stuff more than Steam. There's no one who sensors less.

Boycotting (or the threat of it) has always been a valid reaction to a company doing something you were displeased with. You aren't in any way being "principled" by not boycotting Steam for censoring something, especially after they said they wouldn't do it. It also doesn't matter if they're more "conservative friendly" or not, and I'd go further by pointing out that censorship is hardly a leftist-exclusive thing.

Also, while some people have tried to claim they're only going after stuff for under-aged content (allegedly), this argument falls flat on its face thanks to games like "Life is Strange 2" depicting under-aged sex, yet getting all kinds of critical acclaim.

Life is Strange 2 isn't pornographic though, its primarily artistic. Evenicle 2 is the reverse. Which is a legal issue, because one of the rules on whether borderline content is legal or not is the question of artistic merit.

There's also the fact that (IIRC), Cassidy isn't supposed to be underage in Life is Strange 2.
