Alternate History ASB Herodotus World

So humans have often had limited understanding of the world around them. A famous map by Herodotus is indicative of what the Greeks seem to have known in the fifth century BC.

It has Asia, Europe, and Africa. With an outer sea.



What if, this was the world?

Beyond the outer sea is some sort is a water fall and beyond it great pillars, though any sailor that has reached that far has died.

Europe is much bigger and Asia and Africa much smaller.

Let’s assume history goes mostly the same until around the Roman era. When do we start seeing major divergences?

I would think firstly-Africa is circumnavigated sooner, and the limits of Asia are probably reached by Greek travelers.

Not too sure on Asia, but India would be centered around the Indus, and much smaller overall.

How does world history go in this flat Herodotean world?

Thoughts? Ideas, Comments?

I suppose you could have some far kingdom that was equivalent to western China. Maybe. Or whatever was there at the time historically.

Europe rule.There would be no USA to change that,and those asiatic power who remained would be unable to change situation.
Without american gold Spain would never become superpower,so France would probably rule known world.

Would it be so simple? I would think without Indian trade there’d be less reason for the Roman Empire to collapse. Though no Britain either.

Hmmm... it is unrealistic.Anime is mostly unrealistic,too, but when we talk about sex things should remain realistic.I mean,girls from hentai would be unable to live,at least most of them.
