I'd always heard that Sam Elliot was a typical Hollywood liberal, too.

Sam Elliot's 77, he's not young enough to be a typical Hollywood liberal.

Sam Elliot's voice is as deep as the damn Marianna Trench. I did not realize his voice was that deep, I haven't seen much of his stuff.

Like damn, he makes Morgan Freeman's voice seem relatively shallow.

I completely agree with his take though. To put it in perspective: imagine the shitshow if a white American director decided to make a movie about the "authentic lives" of gay Maori warriors in the 1800s.

That would not go well.

To be fair, she based it on a novel from 1967, but I have no knowledge of the original author's credibility or whether her adaptation was faithful to the original work.

The film apparently stays pretty close to the book, which was written by a guy who'd both grown up and worked on ranches, and caught the gay.

It's just that Brokeback Mountain (which was written decades later) really was 'The Gay Cowboy Movie', so a cowboy being a closeted homosexual doesn't have quite the impact that it did when the book was released.

Also, the intersection of the group of people that really likes movies about cowboys and the group of people that really likes movies about gay cowboys is fairly small.

Former Amazon CEO (and founder of Amazon) and second wealthiest person in the world Jeff Bezos issued some Tweets critical of the Biden Administration's fiscal policy specifically in regards to its effects on Inflations.

First he took issue with raising taxes on Corporations being LINKED to fighting Inflation and said it should be reviewed by the newly minted White House Disinformation Board or whatever they are calling the Ministry of Truth.

Then he Quote Tweeted this Statement about how Hollow Biden's Deficit Spending Claim Was and Further Stated Senator Manchin of West Virginia saved the Inflation from becoming worse (and the Democrats from Hurting Themselves) by Blocking the trillions in new Spending Biden Wanted to Pass On Top of That. And also stated that Inflation is a Regressive Tax on the least affluent.

And recently the White House responded to Bezos' claims with what Bezos claims is a Red Herring by Bringing up Amazon Unions. Bezos (whose not CEO of Amazon anymore) states that Unions (and wealthy people) have little to do with Rising Inflation, but reminds everyone that trillions in new Federal Spending does.

Apparently Maverick's Jacket has seen the return of the Japanese and TAIWANESE flags after they were scrubbed out and replaced with nonsensical symbology in order to appease Paramounts Chinese investors like Tencent in the initial teaser trailer.

Maverick wore that jacket in the original Top Gun because his character served in East Asia in a tour of duty involving the Taiwanese and Japanese militaries. The images were replaced in the initial teaser trailer of the sequel released a few years ago but the flags have apparently been restored in the new trailer/film.

Needless to say... many Chinese netizens were mandated to whine about this on their Chinese-language social media platforms.

also @Urabrask Revealed @gral the videogame adaptation hasn't dropped the term. So Paizo Inc isn't as zealous as other companies.

Thinking as a company, Paizo just went for ancestry for the simple reason they want to avoid all the fucking noise SJWs would have potentially made for that term.

But maybe it's me that I have a mixed "race" background and grew up between two continents.
