I've decided to create a thread here where I post various bits of art I made. I've also started a Deviantart page as well where I post some of my art if you're interested.

Here' some minimalistic art I made of Kars the main antagonist from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part II: Battle Tendency. What do you guys think?

Nice work Basileus! I'm not familiar with the anime, but the artwork still looks good to me.
You should give it a watch. Though if you don't have time to watch it all, I recommend checking out the Manga instead. Araki's artstyle is pretty unique and gets really good as the manga continues into each part.

That's a nice take on anime hair. Gives it texture without making it too busy.
Thanks. Glad you liked it.

Some minimalistic art I made for Code Geass. This is depicting Lelouch in his Julius Kingsley outfit during the OVA Akhito the Exiled.

Good work as always.

Do you have a specific method you use to make this?

Thanks for the recommendation.
The manga is better for the art style/pacing, but I’d still watch the later part of part 3 in anime as well. It’s the source of many classic memes.

Part 2 though was really fun to watch overall. Joseph Joestar’s is a pretty compelling and fun character to root for.

I’m basically using Paint.net. I’m basically using vectors/line to help me draw out the various art pieces.

Good styling on the hair and well placed shadows there. The wrinkles on the cloak do a great job of implying the shape with only a few strokes.

The dimple of his chin being shaded bothers me. Since the nose and mouth have both been left off, leaving in a much less noticeable feature is a bit glaring. I'd personally also dramatically redo the shading. The headband/eyepatch is shaded all the way across so that it looks like the light source is to the far left, but the face is shaded as if the light source is nearly directly in front. He needs either less shadow on the eyepatch or more on the face to make them more harmonious.

I based it off the original Manga panel from Tite Kubo.

I based it off a colored version of the manga panel. It probably would have turned out better If I had used the original black and white version as fan colored versions of manga tends to lose some of the detail that comes with the shading of the original black and white panels.

Thanks for the critiques though! They were really helpful.

The hairstyle and overall look reminds me of Gambit from X-Men.
I think Kubo does have some influence from western art styles as well.

Edit: I fixed the broken link.
