What I want is a military that does not see itself as being able to ignore the civie gov, no matter who is in charge.

The military is supposed to serve the civies, not act as a nation unto itself.

I mean I remember the generals and Pentagon openly ignoring Trump's orders regarding Syria and other things.
So you want Taiwan to be invaded? You want all our stuff to only come from China when any trade stops with the rest if the Pacific nations?

Good to know.

That's not what I said, and you damn well know it.

I want the military to stop actings as nation unto itself.
And the issues with that are in cases like these.
Sometimes, you have to take something you don't like

And if it doesn't?
Fo you want the president to control your city? Like as a dem in Chicago, getting a national police force makes it so the Republicans of the take back the government can fix your city

So the main article cited says it's so that they can more effectively deal with threats to Members of Congress in California and Florida, and there has been a significant spike in such.

Which makes sense, since the USCP has jurisdiction over protecting them. I would imagine it's also quite a bit cheaper than having to fly out officers, put them up, fly them back, rinse and repeat. They don't just sit on Capitol Hill all day and that's it.

As far as "federalizing" domestic intelligence...federal law enforcement already works very closely with local and state agencies...that's why there's so many regional task forces.

As it is, the USCP answers to Congress through the Capitol Police Board and the executive branch has no control over them.

Yeah I heavily doubt the executive branch ad no power. Harris most likely controls them

It's a blatant ploy. The Democrats are becoming more and more... actually, I'm not sure whether to call them early Nazi Party analogue or Russian Communist Party analogue. They're pretty much treading the same ground they did before a certain War kicked off.

Capital Police now have effective jurisdiction across the nation, with 1/6 as an excuse.

What I find funny about this situation, in a dark comedy sort of way, is that despite being the most heavily armed population on Earth all the anti-tyranny and "blood of the patriots" bloviating has quite literally proven to be nothing more than just that, emptying gesturing. You have the Capitol Police and FBI in tandem openly acting as the secret police and hauling away literal grandfathers or the like right now, while you have them openly soliciting the public for tips just like the old Stasi did; there have been multiple cases of children reporting their own parents to the authorities.

We don't have to talk about a future dystopia because we are living in one right now. You have no rights, the Government is not even a soft dictatorship anymore when they are sending DOJ goons to arrest people on trumped up charges. This also isn't the "Radical Liburals!!!!" either because this shit started long before it was "Biden's America" as the Trump team liked to run ads saying such last year when the fucker was still President. Both parties are controlled and owned by the same interests and hold no real power; the system is what is here and it is coming for you.

I really hope to all Americans of the Republican, or hell, even the Democrat variety who still appreciates accountable government (yeah, I know) start blasting your elected officials about this, and get them to either reneg this whole idea, or to revoke the immunity on FISA.

And if the Capitol police somehow come to your door because you're "harassing" elected officials by...petitioning your elected officials, tell them to get the fuck off your property, get a warrant, and RECORD everything.
