Tell you what, as an actual person of mixed heritage who was called mongrel as in insult more times than I can remember, I would have no problem with that name or logo, and would totally wear it myself. Hell, I refer to myself as a mongrel all the time now as a kind of joke, and frankly as a way to show that word doesn't hurt me.
I've been ashamed of the AF going woke for a while now, though, not the least of which has involved them getting rid of good officers and men over accusations of sexual misconduct, even when there has been evidence to vindicate the accused. They also broke their own rules to punt a female MTI who posed nude for some magazine even further back, during the era of "we can't have nose art on our planes anymore because 'professional,' so shark teeth on the A-10s need to go." Now I'm seeing all the buzzwords about "inclusivity" and "equality of outcome." And then there was the recent relaxing of hair regs, but only for women.

It's not the word Mongrel that's the problem, it's that they use a bulldog's head as a logo, and the Keystone United skinheads (of maybe a dozen people, who mostly don't shave their heads) also use a bulldog's head in their logo.
Reminds me of the part in Star Wars where the Empire had the clones remove all the color from their armor before switching to the stormtrooper armor.

Seriously, the ADL database is a thing of insanity. Almost everything's a hate symbol. 1, 11, 12, 13, 14, 18, 100%, seriously once you get through the numbers alone there's no numerals left that aren't hate symbols. Coors beer is a hate symbol, as are most religious symbols, the OK sign, extending your pointer fingers, bulldogs, wearing boots, several mathematical symbols, etc. ACAB is even on their list as a hate symbol but they have a notation next to it that it's only a hate symbol when bad people use it, not everybody, which I didn't realize hate symbols could be.

In February of 2013 the Memphis, TN government renamed the Park (originally it would be called "Civil War Park" but that was too offensive or some shit so it was renamed "Health Sciences Park" for some dumb reason) and tried and failed repeatedly to try and get both the Statue and the grave removed from the Park and returned to his original resting place in Elmwood Cemetery. In 2017 the Memphis local government then sold the park to a non-profit called Memphis Greenspace which then immediately tried to do the exact same thing the Memphis Government did. Probably because Memphis Greenspace's President is also one of the County Commissioners. 🤷♀️
But the descendants of Nathan Forrest filed a lawsuit and the whole thing has been locked up in the Courts since 2017, though the Forrest statue and grave had endured repeated threats and acts of vandalism, especially after the noble death of George Floyd in May of 2020. There was a settlement recently and with the assistance of the group known as the 'Sons of Confederacy' and the local government and volunteers, the General and his wife will be disinterred, the statue of General Forrest removed and all of it relocated to the National Confederate Museum in Columbia, Tennessee.
