CDPR Strategy Highlights

Highlights:

1) The standalone Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer game has been cancelled.

2) CDPR has announced that it 2022, it will start to work simultaneously on both the next Witcher and the next Cyberpunk game. Both will be single player RPGs.

3) CDPR plans to implement some multiplayer functions into it's single player games in the future rather than creating dedicated multiplayer games.

4) CDPR plans to create a team solely working on improving and maintaining the REDEngine in order to prevent the bug issues seen during the launches of W3 and 2077.

Regarding point No. 2, maybe they should stick with one large game at a time and actually try to competently manage such a mammoth task, lest you end up with a repeat of 2077 again. And maybe another game can continue to work on 2077, No Man's Sky-style, to get that game where it was intended to be.

I'd like to have The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2078 before I'm 35, thank you very much.

Whover keeps convincing executives that every game needs to be multiplayer ought to be roasted on a spit.
If it wasn't shoehorned in multiplayer, it would be something else. They're just trying to win the marketing game by chasing trends; they have no idea what the consumer actually wants. Most of them probably think making entertainment media is no different from making something like personal hygiene products, toys, and/or fast food.
