Commoners Quest- 1000 Wands of World Wrecking Wonder (DnD 5E RPG)

A confused leftist
Skill Proficiencies
History, plus your choice of one from among Arcana, Nature, and Religion

Tool Proficiencies
None

Languages
Two of your choice

Equipment
The scholar's robes of your cloister, a writing kit (small pouch with a quill, ink, folded parchment, and a small penknife), a borrowed book on the subject of your current study, and a pouch containing 10 gp

Feature: Library Access
Though others must often endure extensive interviews and significant fees to gain access to even the most common archives in your library, you have free and easy access to the majority of the library, though it might also have repositories of lore that are too valuable, magical, or secret to permit anyone immediate access.

You have a working knowledge of your cloister's personnel and bureaucracy, and you know how to navigate those connections with some ease.

Additionally, you are likely to gain preferential treatment at other libraries across the Realms, as professional courtesy shown to a fellow scholar.

Suggested Characteristics
Use the tables for the sage background as the basis for your traits and motivations, modifying the entries when appropriate to suit your identity.

Your bond is almost certainly associated either with the place where you grew up or with the knowledge you hope to acquire through adventuring. Your ideal is no doubt related to how you view the quest for knowledge and truth – perhaps as a worthy goal in itself, or maybe as a means to a desirable end.
More info on the background.

Alright sure. Being a scribe at the Times Emporium or the clerk. Being an apprentice. A background I found was cloistered scholar, seems to be the pursuit to add knowledge to a library.

What I was thinking of him being pretty much the guy who does the clerical work for half the village, or rather works for whatever authority, and given how podunk it is, has to supplement has income by doing freelance work. And is one of your character's former students and professional friends. Though I can think about it, and saw some other backgrounds that are interesting. Though that can work.

You know what, I'll got with your suggestion and we can iron out details.

Anyways, got my sheet up, and will add to it as I go. Using human variant from dandwiki and used that background. Can always move around skills depending on criticism and any possible mistakes. My character is probably going to be one of the skill monkeys it seems (ook). Can always switch around my free picks, but I think Arcana is useful, and so is medicine. Languages are also debatable.

Biography
Theodoric is one of several sons (he also has several sisters) of a local yeoman of some prominence, or whatever passes for promincence in Barleyville. Given that his father had concern for his children, and their future (and of course the future of his clan) and that the inheritance for the children lower down the line would be threadbare, he endeavoured to provide for them. So he arranged education for all of them, and particular trades for those who wouldn't inherit, through various means. He was able to arrange a formal education with Varys as an apprentice for Theodoric.

And thus he studied under the Elf, and became one of his better pupils. Learning a variety of skills that would help him as an academic, and in business. He studied a variety of areas, becoming the most skilled in the study of Arcana. His education and middle class (of the era) upbringing allowed him to grow into the generally decent, temperate, moral/virtuous, and otherwise moderate man, of moderate ambitions. Those ambitions being that he wanted to become a somewhat well known scholar, and to become a prominent citizen in the region and of course by doing so bring some level of benefit to his home and to the library and his teacher. He currently has had a stable life working under his master, while aiding those in his family, and the era when he can with his expertise.

So any suggestions of how I should switch things around? Going to canvas opinions and then fix things up, if needed. And then of course add the rest.
