If I may play the devil's advocate here; that's how it's supposed to work. In general, liberals want to change how things are, while conservatives want to keep things as they are. Any compromise between the two groups is going to leave both unhappy.

In America at least, this is not true. Conservatism is named for 'conserving the founding values of the nation.' Those of us who take it seriously and are invested in politics, want to actively move back in that direction.

I would say that the 'just try to keep a holding action, but willing go compromise' do comprise far too much of the right wing as a whole. I think that they are, more or less, the right-wing version of what you are to the left-wing. People who have some affiliation, but don't understand the ideals, or the importance, of what actually drives the party.

I'd argue it's the regressive leftists who don't understand what the left-wing is supposed to be about, but in the end the semantics are irrelevant; regardless, I think we can all agree that if the mainstream left aligned more with my politics, than those of the regressive left, things would be a whole lot less insane. I mean, the left would still be pushing for change, but reasonable change with some actual thought put into it, rather than just reactionary nonsense. After all; change does not have to come at the cost of our founding values.

Its beyond obvious at this point the culture is entirely lost.

Sixty years since the 1960s, and its fruits are blossoming for us all to see.

Trump's recent blows may cost him the election.

Here it the thing conservatives are forgetting. Trumps base is not all Conservatives. Trumps base has a lot of damn moderates in it. One could argue more moderates than conservatives. Considering never Trumper Conservatives are still a thing. He won because of the moderates backing him and hating Hillary Clinton. And now the Moderates have a choice between Trump who did well by them and well a Senile Old man named Joe Biden. Moderates don't vote for senile people.
