Since villains are the mouthpiece for any ideology the writer opposses. So, since the Left took over the media.
I just had a sudden idea where Captain Marvel and the other more "woke" heroes (using Ulysses the Inhuman precog and some of telepaths) turns America into a 1984-like dictatorship where they operate a thought police that mind controls people and mindfucks anyone who gets out of line.
The exact world the woke people want . . . except Red Skull leads an insurgency called the Werwolfs against them.

Based. Shame tho it will never be written.

Very based, would be a cool idea for a fic. I'd read it at least. Could also potentially do some cool stuff with Cap, there...

A potential issue here though is that whereas when the left puts these lines in Red Skull's mouth they're associating people like us with Red Skull, but in a story like this it'd be people like us choosing to associate ourselves with Red Skull and painting him as essentially heroic, which would be a hard angle to write since it's essentially directly in opposition to the post-war moral framework. You'd probably get freak outs even here.

It might be easier to write as an AU of the Marvel Civil War, with the woke heroes standing in for Iron Man and being more globalist (maybe make the registration act a UN thing instead of a US thing?) and then potentially have Cap and some of the more old school heroes team up to an extent with Red Skull, but as more of an enemy-of-my-enemy thing? Can still have Red Skull making good points, of course.

(Note: this isn't at all me saying that there's an issue with your idea- I prefer your original idea to my modification- just saying that the optics and how you frame it is something to think through)

I'd have captain america stand with the woke superheros at first until he comprehends what they truly stand for.

Wow thanks for the shoutout man. I don't know if the players would ever let the marvel world get that bad, but....Alternate Universes are a thing. It could easily be a board event.
I am in the middle of getting a Bachelor of International Business, so I thought . . . Why not put my knowledge to good use and do some marketing?

Some random tidbits from my notepad file about said idea, codenamed Earth-1984

Captain America (Steve Rogers) is dead (how would the woke let a straight white man play the hero?), he's replaced by America Chavez.

Punisher (Frank Castle) is dead (he was one of the first to be eliminated by order of the World Council) and his skull and iconic T-shirt are displayed in a trophy room (not accessible to the public of course) in the World Council building in NYC

Charles Xavier is one of the top member of the World Council and one of it's top telepaths alongside Jean Grey

Red Skull (Johann Schmitt) is leader of the Werwulfs, the only significant source of resistance against the World Council

Mystique (Raven Darkholme) is one of Red Skull's top lieutenants and commander of all Werwulf cells in Europe

Daken (Akihiro) is also one of Red Skull's top lieutenants and commander of all Werwulf cells in Asia

Anyone interested?

My glorious avatar stands ready and willing to provide fire support from orbit. Do you want me to hit the World Council Building with a alpha strike?

Doctor Doom's schemes are all retaliation against attempts to colonize Latveria and make it beholden to the World Council. His greatest enemy isn't that fool Richard but rather the new york banker that handle's Richard's money... and secretly manipulated Richard Reeds on the behalf of the world council.
Werwulf Europe HQ is located in Latveria. Dr Doom is an ally of the Werwulfs, though not a member.

Oh, lovely. They've sent me a mo-ron.

When's he going to get freedomed like Gaddafi or Saddam Hussein? Except he's one step ahead and like Kane comes back to the applause of his loyal subjects who miss him when the new leaders suck at their jobs and corrupt as fuck.

He's getting the soft yet inappropriate touch like Pakistan since he has super weapons. Also he has weather control tech instead of oil as a primary export. Its very hard to "liberate" that because the ground control station needs to be operated by a Latverian Witch to make the magical components work.

What a damn shame unless he intentionally let his super weapons fail just to teach his Latverian citizens why they should appreciate being under Doom's magnificence instead of a corrupt pencil pushing windbag.

I would present Red Skull as a tempter figure who ultimately ends up using the benefit of the doubt the anti-reg heroes give him as a means to work his own villain scheme for world dominance.

This. One must remember that there is evil on both sides, and evil factions always try to legitimize themselves by opposing other evils. For example, Stalin and Hitler using the other one to legitimize themselves, the KKK protesting Westboro Baptist Church, and actual white nationalists complaining about cancel culture. These must be resisted at all costs, because otherwise they are used to drag down the good movement (opposing Hitler/Stalin, loving America (why the KKK counterprotested), or cancel culture being bad).

If Cap was around then he'd be too redundant, but if Cap's dead, US Agent (John Walker) might be an interesting character.

I sort of feel like Skull should be bringing a few Hydra (or ex-Hydra) people with him too, maybe Zemo?

All I have to say is where's the Steiner Scout Lance? Charles Xavier and everyone else on the world Council deserves a visit by one
