For the people keeping track at home.

Somehow they managed to make things more complicated then the current MCU right from the onset despite it being a full reboot of said cinematic universe.

Just...why? This seems like the sort of overly complicated, labyrinth "canon' that should be the punchline on some SNL skit.

Henry Cavill before he departed probably gave James Gunn the wise parting advice that he should do what they did with the first Season of The Witcher, only to in addition randomly excise and remove episodes from canon completely to make the storytelling even more intricately crafted.

I never saw Peacemaker, I heard it was good and all but don't have any real interest in seeing it, but I'm curious as to how the season is formatted to the point you can apparently just cut and paste various episodes in and out of canon. Sounds wild.

I would guess the non-canon episodes contain versions of characters or references to events Gunn doesn't want in his continuity and thus while the broad strokes of the episode might still have happened the details aren't canon and shouldn't be looked at too closely.
