"The Harris County district attorney's office stated that Assistant District Attorney Jana Oswald "had asked the judge for a 20-40 yrs sentence, given the seriousness of her crime and the lasting effects of the crime and the impact on the child's life.""

Female Privilege.

If the genders were reversed, that would have been the offender's sentence.

"Judge Glass decided to delay Bodine's jail time for one year. According to the Judge, it would allow Bodine to take care of her newborn child. Reportedly, the victim is not the father of Bodine's infant."

Lies. Lies. Lies.

Where's the pimp hand when you need it?

Child predators rarely content themselves with one victim.
It is entirely plausible that there are multiple other victims we do not know about and that one of them is the father instead.

Utah based apparel company Lions Not Sheep was fined over $200,000 for removing the Made in China tags from their clothing and replacing them with false Made in USA tags.

They sell a variety of pro-2nd Amendment and pro-Trump clothing among other ideologically related garments.

Yahoo said:
Whalen said in a statement to USA TODAY the company does not agree with the FTC's ruling, but has "no choice but to accept it and move on." The statement said the company has been "very honest and transparent" about its business, citing an October 2020 Facebook video posted by Whalen in which he says the company buys shirts that were made in China.

In addition to the fine, under a 12-page order from the FTC, the company and its owner must "stop making bogus made in the USA" claims and "come clean about foreign production."

Also under the order, any qualified Made in USA claims must include "a clear and conspicuous disclosure" about the extent to which the product contains foreign parts, ingredients or components, or processing.

It goes on to read that if a product is assembled in the U.S., the company must ensure it is last substantially transformed in the U.S., its principal assembly occurs in the United States, and that its U.S. assembly operations are substantial.

I can't really disagree with the FTC on this one. "Made in 'X'" labels exist so that the buyer knows where it came from. The Winnipeg Jets NHL baseball cap I wear petty much daily was made in Bangladesh, fr'ex ... and I'm ok with that.

I'd like to argue with that, but I really don't have the money to buy most of my shirts from a factory that isn't a deathtrap waiting to go up in flames and toast some more innocent sweatshop workers...

Yeah, I probably do want the labels so I can be informed when I can actually start spending money on shirts made in Canada, the US, or some other places where the garment factories have actual safety standards...

Oh, *that* novel. "The Last White Man". I tell you what actually happens: western societies collapse because everyone still expects gibmedats, churches are destroyed and replaced with mosques if any, and the nations that once were considered white now resemble the shitholes the colonizers "fled" from. The few people willing to work are crushed by the sheer demands and taxes placed on them, causing resentments to rise and civil wars t9 break out. Democracy has been consigned to the dustbin of history.

Humanity is doomed to a new dark age.

When it's cheaper to murder people than treat them, corpos and doctors go for that option. Who could've predicted this?
And of course, the same suits that ordered the execution of your grandfather will try to starve off death as long as possible with the money they saved by killing your grandparents.
I'd like to believe that they can hear the hellfire roaring for their souls already and they are terrified. Because they subconciously realize they are damning themselves without care and there will be no mercy for them like they denied it to the needy.

True.In Belgium ,when it started,it was the same, but made it more cyvilized - first they wait with changing diapers for few hours till their victims agreed to suicide, later changed diapers, but do not talk to patients.

Mark my words, a lot of professions will end up with a lot less workers in it and a huge reputation-loss they will take at least a hundred years to recover from.

This is what happens when you take a utilitarian view of human life. When see people as meat robots instead of beings made in God's image it becomes much easier to see them as expendable.

It happened in Nazi Germany, Red China, and the Soviet Union, and now our leaders are trying to take us down the same bloody path.

It is the inevitable result of rejecting the existence of a transcendent source of moral authority. If there's a time in the 20th or 21st century, hell even during the French Revolution in the 19th, where this rejection of higher authority didn't result in the rejection of fundamental human value, I haven't heard of it.

India seemed to be working perfectly well with "your current life is a barely relevant rounding error in the midst of aeons of torment and the best thing to do is to cease existing" being an extremely prevalent viewpoint. And the old blood-money practices are a rather major departure from your ahistorical farce of a glorified past.

The problem is thoughtlessly rejecting received wisdom without the legwork to replace it. Nothing more special than that, and there's absolutely nothing making secular humanism impossible to get as robust as the old religions.

And the moment the Problem of Evil comes up, the thing you're calling necessary as Christianity has it has its days numbered, because explaining it is monstrously excessive for the vast majority of people.

To say nothing of the horrid bullshit it introduces for distant foreigners and the pre-Christian world. The entire idea of "Virtuous Pagans" has zero scriptural basis, but needed to exist to not have the extremely vast majority of humans be fully damned solely by accident of birth, including the very people who handed down the ethical system that diverged Christanity from Judaism.

Funfamentally, Christianity is exceptionally poor under scruitiny, because it has too many trivial questions with absurdly complicated answers. "The divine is just Really Powerful rulers and/or embodiments of natural forces perfectly able to be unreasonable jackasses just like us" worked fine for the millennia prior to Christianity.
