Did anyone see that new fan made trailer for Bloodsport Redux?
Pretty well made. I liked how they superimposed Jean Claude Van Damme into the Kumite ring and how they took actual interview clips of the more famous participants in the original movie and edited their statements to establish the trailer plot. The clip from the interview with Bolo Yeung especially (who was the main antagonist in Bloodsport) since in that interview he was saying that the legacy of martial arts stars moved from Bruce Lee to Jean Claude Van Damme and then was like... who would be after him? And JCVD was actually sitting next to him trying to look stone faced and totally not smitten.
Controversial opinion but I actually do think as martial arts movies goes, especially with the 'tournament' format of martial arts movies that Bloodsport is actually the best of its genre. I know that Enter the Dragon and a billion Chinese/Hong Kong movies are out there with similar formats in the genre but I still think Bloodsport is the finest of the class.
I would be careful about calling a new movie Bloodsport ReDUX though, I'm not exactly sure where Frank Dux is now, but I doubt his CIA duties are keeping him so busy that he can't sue anyones ass for making another too realistic movie regarding his true exploits.
