Movies Marvel Cinematic Universe

I guess I'm one of the few people who still has genuine faith in marvels films. 25+ films and tv shows and the've only had one or two things that were outright bad. which is a much higher average than say the Peter Jackson Middle earth films or the star wars saga where 4/9 films are firmly in the Bad category. I'd watch captain marvel over the last jedi or Rise of Skywalker on any day that ends with the letter Y.

For sure. I still have faith, as I still have little for Star Wars.

I was gonna watch Hawkeye no matter what as there are parts filmed in my home town

Shang Chi.... might break even if the current trend follows that of a similar film Ant-man in declining box officer performance week by week.

This is using the metric that Shang Chi can make back 2.5x its production budget which is between 150-200 million dollars. At the low end that means Shang Chi could potentially break even if it reaches the $375 million total box office. It's currently sitting at $257 million with no competing movies coming out until October.

Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings.
I recommend it. Better then Black Widow.
Has some minor preaching tones in it, but all small in regards as the movie is pretty good.

Fight scenes are great, and it reminds me of Chinese Kung Fu movies, but with better CGI, and not overly sucking off the Chinese titty.

Shang Chi was probably the single most "made for the Chinese audience" film ever made. Mix of classic HK kung fu and modern Chinese fantasy, with some CCP propaganda talking points mixed in. Buuuuuut, the main actor is a leftist activist so the CCP have refused to air it in China. :ROFLMAO:

What is everyone's view on this?

Despite what many first-time watchers may think Razor is not a particularly original observer. His big strength is that he's a transitional political commentator from the early oughts and so can dig up the babies everyone else abandoned with the baths. These trends have been noticed and documented before but end up inevitably forgotten among the hype for whatever comes next.

So in general his observations are correct, we'll start seeing more and more Marvel flops as the superhero genre stagnates until something new comes along to begin the fad cycle anew. All that being said Disney has shown eerie mastery of human psychology and will likely milk a few more cows before things fall apart, so I'm hesitant to start crowing about anything just yet.

I guess I just find it sad that we don't have the attention span to establish a culture. The stories of the Greek gods were told for hundreds of years and are still being told today. America seems to change it's culture every 20 years or so and now have about the attention span and mental capacity to match.

Scarlett Johansson and Disney settled their lawsuit apparently though details will not be released. Apparently they both issued statements that they'll be working together in the future as well.

Who's to say that the Greeks living back then wouldn't have felt the same way? Remember; time has a way of separating the wheat from the chaff, as well as obliterating nuance and context. I'm sure thousands of years from now, nobody will remember anything but our bests works either.

Doctor Strange 2, Thor 4, Antman 3, the Marvels and a Black Panther sequel (as well as Indiana Jones 5) have all been delayed for a period of time ranging from two to six months with Indiana Jones being pushed back over a year.

Most disturbing of all is this announcement:

Variety said:
“Untitled Disney Live Action” (Disney) previously dated on 7/14/23 is removed from schedule

the only movies that could possibly benifit form the live action treatment are The Black Cauldron, Treasure Planet, and maybe Atlantis: The Lost Empire. and that's only because said movies got royally hosed by the mouse, they deserve a 2nd chance in the spotlight
Which is exactly why they won't get it. ;)

Moon Knight trailer dropped for the new Disney Plus Television show that takes place in the MCU.

It's starring Oscar Isaac as the titular character with a six episode release scheduled for sometime in 2022.
