I think it's far from the most likely scenario, but given how pants-on-head retarded Russia has been through this whole war, I am not willing to rule it out altogether.
But by the same token, do you honestly think that Russia could have actually pulled off such an operation successfully? Seems to me their proven incompetence would preclude that version of events.

Well, apparently if they did do it, they did it incompetently by sailing over it in Russian boats according to reports, so that stacks up with the incompetence.

I don't know, maybe I'm dumb to expect competence.

Or - it just blown up.Becouse Kursk in 2002 was sunken by their own stupidity,too - and they blamed it on USA.

You know, the arguments some of you make that the US is the actor involved would be a lot more compelling if you acknowledged that there are other parties with things to gain, and the US has things to lose as well.
