Eco-Purists were what these crazies called themselves, and the name stuck like how Nazis are applied to anything fascist.

The thing was, the various nations of the planet were going to use many of the technologies that would later be put into the arcologies into a climate restoration network.

However, like the Black Hand before WW1, they would rather have things get to shit than being better...

They still sorta sound like the Saints from Prince Roger/Empire of Man

Aside from being extremely Anti-Pollution, the Saints decided that people shouldn't have terraformed other planets and made them even take out the plants & animals they brought with them to those planets and since they don't like pollution via machinery, they MADE THEM DO IT BY HAND

And because even things like feces contain Earth DNA, they decided to minimize their rations while making them do it

In a way, their "religion" was based around Humanity's "Original Sin" of Causing Pollution and making the majority of the populace repent. Whilst the "archons" and their families are permitted to "repent less" and live in luxury.

Sorta like an Eco-Terrorist version of a Corrupt Communist State

That is... interesting.

Eco-Purists, in this case, ain't anything like that, these guys are willing to do anything to carry out their goal of wiping humanity from existence. As I said, they're 'Human Genocideists', i.e. they want all of humanity wiped out.

I've called this setting 'Children of a Frozen Earth', something of a play on the title of the hardest Scifi combat simulator Children of a Dead Earth.

One scary thing about the setting is the psi-memory, basically the 'memories' from the Metro series of videogames. If your body craps out on you if you are in one, you'll become 'part of the scenery' as it were and suffer the memory on repeat till entropy or the memory is either contained or destroyed.

Well, at least compared to the Saints, they're more honest, unless they have no intention of killing themselves later for consistency's sake

Oh, they will, once they make sure that every other human is thoroughly dead.

Can change the motive, "human" can mean "person" so best to wait for the next evolution billions of years from now and wipe out those sapients and repeat or move out to the stars to look for more "humans" to exterminate en masse

The thing is, with this bunch of crazies, they know doing that would be a losing proposition so they settled for simply humanity and all the uplifts they created (which were originally monsters before the various governments 'deprogrammed' them)...

... that and leave a memetic weapon that would infect any species with Eco-Purist mentality.

Reminds me of Aristillus by Travis J Corcoran, the world with its extremely centralized command economies has multiple government organizations

One for keeping tech that'd disrupt the economy "regulated" or kept from release

One to "stop any singularities" from occurring

Some scientists made genetically engineered sapient talking dogs.....said dogs were then sentenced to death by government investigators before getting rescued by some marines who liked dogs and were standing guard

... looking Travis up and... he is an anarcho-capitalist, i.e. the ideology version of meth, i.e. not even fucking once.

The thing is, once reprogrammed, the uplifts are rather cheery chaps... who act like stereotypical Canadians in the 'apologies-a-palooza' department.

Guy posted Huffington Post and Warren Ellis’ opinions on him

I'm sure this can be justified as your lovely American free speech and not hate speech or malicious communication, and yes, I'm sure Corcoran has a perfect right to say it and all that shit. Guess what? I have a perfect right not to like it, and a right to not be associated with the nutter who spews it.

Stupid, ill-advised, and, frankly, immoral
-- Radley Balko, former Huffington Post senior writer
How is Travis Corcoran still a free man?

He also made it so that unlike The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress, they did NOT nuke or attack Earth after/during the sudden invasion that killed lots of the people on Aristillus.....GAMMA the AI chose to use the Anti-Gravity Technology and lots of Uranium to just move the entire place away from the Moon

Turn The Other Cheek and RUN THE FUCK AWAY

Even let the invading soldiers from Earth who killed lots of their people, off to NOT look like horrible monsters and to NOT have to spend so much resources on them mid-infrastructure-destroyed

Say what you want about him, but at least he doesn’t advocate being just as bad as the enemy, hell it’s even a point in-universe that you gotta let your enemy talk out loud even if they slander you.....mostly because it’d be hypocritical to shut them down and the college student journalists had one member much later on show vids that showed how they were actively having to edit videos and even lighten the skin color of a hispanic businessman to make him look white

I prefer Uplifts that are more free-will-y like the dogs mentioned above....there’s a chance that one half may really want to have revenge on all the humans

Personally I like the idea of Alternate history apocalypses.

That is-the collapse of civilization and vast reduction of the human population at some time before the present(namely before the 20th century).

There are a few possibilities.

First off more destructive Black Death-a la the Years of Rice and Salt. But what if it devastated the rest of Eurasia and Africa just as much? Killing everyone or 98% of the population? In the Islamic world, China, India, and so on.

Early modern collapse-war, famine, plague and so on were omnipresent in the 17th century. What if a confluence of factors led to Europe, the Ottoman Empire, China and the new world all disintegrating into anarchy and some degree of technological regression.

18th century zombie apocalypse.

That isn't really possible, given the circumstances. Any uplift housing that sort of mentality would be quickly discovered, sent to be psychologically reevaluated, and treated as the situation dictates.

You could try Frostpunk which is probably up your alley...

... basically a Steampunk Day After Tomorrow apocalypse with no certain cause.

I liked the Talking Dogs.....really interesting characters who sorta had problems with realizing how short a dogs lifespan was, that even though they’re smarter.....humans made them, figuring out what sort of life or culture they would have(only around for a decade) and dealing with the few deaths they ever saw others of their kind experiencing.....in their short existence that went along with how those that died were amongst the first

Yeah, it’s a recipe for possible rebellion and possibly extremely angry woobies who want to commit mass murder for revenge, but kinda cool

(Not all the dogs were like that, a sort of split)

Well, uplifts, in this case, are less 'make animals human-grade sapient' and more 'use animal as template'.

Oh, lovely. They've sent me a mo-ron.
To find out which supremacist is truly supreme?
That's definitely part of the story.

There's something rather darkly hilarious when first to give the winner the title of world supremacist they must first go through an interim tournament to determine who is the reigning supremacist of their color in order to have the chosen winners fight each other.

So the winner of being the ultimate white supremacist must have the anglo, south american, germanic or anyone that's white fight each other while slurs are uttered as they fight each other.

Even then the ending will be subversive like if it was a powerful warlord who's a racial supremacist he gets overthrown because the contenders worked together to overthrow him for being an asshole forcing them to fight for his amusement.

The whole story is stupid and silly but that's the whole point as you watch people with racial beliefs fight each other.

It might be fun doing a Quest/Empire Builder type of thread pertaining to a "Wasteland." Only gave the Quest idea a try once and it was a neat foray. A lot of my versus ideas tend to be pretty... overly expansive anyway that they'd probably fit better as Quest/CYOA/Creative Writing ideas or whatever anyhow.

But it'd be a neat concept to do a character and empire type of RP perhaps with an early bit where you develop your character/protagonist based off of the choices and preferences they make early in the adventure and then also get some world building done via collaboration with the participants in the thread. And if and when the character gets settled, one can build up a post-apocalyptic community of some sort.

Maybe get some strong inspiration from the usual suspects like Fallout, Mad Max and the Metro series of games, but there's a lot of media out there. I do like my canon crossovery type of stuff to flavor my creativity though.
