Renewable Energy Scam

Neoreactionary Monarchist

Leftist “eco activists” want to protect the planet. They also want to ban nuclear energy.

Those two things simply do not go together.

Left wants to introduce mandatory emission curbs, carbon taxes, fuel efficiency standards, green tech investments and also Green New Deal. At the same time, however, Left is fighting against the nuclear power.

Mass media and environmentalist groups – both a vehicle of leftist propaganda – have spread the idea that nuclear power is something inherently dangerous. And because people do not understand nuclear power, that propaganda has gained widespread acceptance. As a result, Germany had decided to shut down nuclear power plants – while digging coal, importing gas from Russia and also nuclear power from France. And it has stubbornly refused to grow a brain and reverse its idiotic policy. Germany has only three nuclear power plants which produce 6% of country’s electricity requirements. Currently, fossil fuels make up 63% of global electric power production and 84% of total energy production. Hydropower is 16%, other renewables 10% and nuclear power also 10%. And hydroelectricity has almost reached its limit in terms of power production, while other renewables are simply not efficient enough.

And Left wants to reduce or stop nuclear power.

They are useful idiots that are going to dig their own graves.

Problem is those cretins are going to drag anyone except Poland (maybe) and Norway with them.

Sure.

They're morons, but anybody who looks into it finds that.

Oh, and Hydro could well be used in more places, but the Greens have stopped it on the basis that you have to flood a valley (And that's Bad, m'k!). That's happened multiple times in Australia.

The 20terajoule number for 1kg of uranium works out to ...

20x10^12 Ws or 5,555.5... MWh. That's a steady 634.2kW from a powerplant which goes through 1kg of uranium per year.

Little Boy had 64kg of uranium in it.

Nuclear powerplants tend to be big. The two A1B's in the latest American CVNs are ~700MW thermal (estimated, each, per wikipedia) and meant to go 50yrs without refueling. That's a little more than 110 metric tons of spent uranium all at once in one place. That scares people, when it shouldn't because you can plan for it. Heck, the engineers who designed those have almost certainly filed away estimates of what isotopes and in what ratios the engineers who haven't been born yet will find when they decomission one.

The disasters? Murphy is harsh and each one is a learning experience that sucks for those who were caught up in one.

The eco activists getting called out go "ZOMG! Radiation! BAD! NOPE!" while failing to understand that there are no perfect solutions because every form of power generation produces pollution.

Fr'ex: a wooden waterwheel stuck in a creek driving an Archimedes screw lifting water to a cistern out in the boonies - all made entirely out of wood - still needs some form of grease for lubricating the bearings along with some kind of waterproof sealant ... on top of all the wood which gets discarded when making all the parts and pieces needed to put that relatively simple contraption together.

NOTE: I am not a NukeE and used the energy numbers in the linked blog post and my numbers are just back-of-napkin guesstimates.

With their precious windmills, most of it is made of steel, which requires coal to make, the fiberglass blades are made using harsh chemicals, are only useful for a limited amount of time, and are not recyclable so they end up buried in a landfill (and will not biodegrade), and all the moving parts swim in oil for lubrication. All the other metal parts are mined out of the ground and produced using methods which are likewise hardly environmentally friendly. Solar panels and batteries are not environmentally friendly to make or dispose of, and are also only useful within a limited timeframe. Naturally, these morons never think of things like that, they just listen to the people they've been duped by into just accepting all this stuff as "clean" energy from the sun or the wind.

*shrugs* Most people would consider me a strongly left "eco activist".

I want the federal government to outright subsidize the construction of nuclear reactors throughout the country, making aggressive use of imminent domain and federal supremacy to straight up quash *any* attempt by state and local authorities to *in any way* limit or regulate nuclear power plants. Basically, they would be *solely* regulated by the federal NRC, all other authority would be absolutely overridden, and everything would be sovereign fast-tracked.

The contraption* I mentioned upthread can theoretically be built using only stone and wood tools, some trees, beeswax, animal fat, organic rope, a clay pot, and some fires to melt the wax and and animal fat.

There isn't much of any complex "green" machinery which doesn't doesn't require setting something on fire just to build it. That was the "greenist" one I could think of.

* "A hydro-powered water pump feeding a resevior" would be another description for it.

Well yeah, but unless something really weird is going on, you hardly count as an organization.

Greenpeace does not understand that there is no such thing as renewable energy.

Physics has theories. Thermodynamics has laws and the 2nd law of thermodynamics basically says "entropy always increases".

What you are missing here is that the green ideologues aren't completely open with their cards in public discourse. Once you dig into the hidden cards, suddenly it makes sense - namely, the for the greens the CO2 limits aren't just a sacrifice that needs to be made for preventing climate change. For them it's much more than that, sure they care about that, but they have an agenda that goes much further than this, and with some obfuscation they can pursue. Namely, greens ideologically despise economic prosperity, infrastructure development and civilization in general. Hence they are sneaking in a policy of artificial energy scarcity, to cut down on such things. Obviously supporting nuclear energy would be counterproductive to the hidden goal of causing energy scarcity, so here you go.
Back before the era of internet and having to guard their influence they let the cards show a bit more openly.
And even if it were, given society’s dismal record in managing technology, the prospect of cheap, inexhaustible power from fusion is “like giving a machine gun to an idiot child,” Stanford biologist Paul Ehrlich says.

Laments Washington-based author-activist Jeremy Rifkin, “It’s the worst thing that could happen to our planet.”

Inexhaustible power, he argues, only gives man an infinite ability to exhaust the planet’s resources, to destroy its fragile balance and create unimaginable human and industrial waste.
Rifkin is the principal architect of the "Third Industrial Revolution" long-term economic sustainability plan[clarification needed] to address the triple challenge of the global economic crisis, energy security, and climate change.[2] The Third Industrial Revolution (TIR) was formally endorsed by the European Parliament in 2007.[3]

The Huffington Post reported from Beijing in October 2015 that "Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has not only read Jeremy Rifkin's book, The Third Industrial Revolution, but taken it to heart", he and his colleagues having incorporated ideas from this book into the core of the country's thirteenth Five-Year Plan.[4] According to EurActiv, "Jeremy Rifkin is an American economist and author whose best-selling Third Industrial Revolution arguably provided the blueprint for Germany's transition to a low-carbon economy, and China's strategic acceptance of climate policy."[5]
Suddenly it all adds up. The same logic he applies to hypothetical fusion power also partially applies to nuclear power.

Oh, I am aware. As people say, Greens are like watermelons: split it apart, and it's red on the inside.

But majority of their foot soldiers genuinely do believe the propaganda, I think.

I'm not sure most of their footsoldiers even know the full agenda and understand its full implications if they do know it.

And spoiled rotten, split one's head and you will probably find stinking necrotic tissue and fungus.

Yeah, greens are human hating psychopaths, crony capitalists and grifters, but IMHO the various crony capitalists and media whores that enable them are the biggest problem.

See why I despise Musk so much now?

On that note, it's worth seeing that Greta Thunberg has come out as being against Capitalism period.

I'm going to quit posting for a few minutes so you can all sit down and recover from the shock of an Eco-Mouthpiece hating on capitalism.

That might be why the media keep her out of the spotlight lately. Or being a desperate attempt to get back there, as now that she is no longer a "child activist" so beloved by the left, just a left wing activist upper class young woman (terribly common occurence), she needs to stick out somehow, or she's gonna lose the spotlight like David Hogg and many before him. Thought it would be awkward for her handlers to figure out answers to inconvenient questions like "If the West has such an extreme system, why is she still there, rather than some less extreme place... like Venezuela or China".

News at 11, her parents and grandparents were confirmed leftard weirdo grifters.
