ROB decides that Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged is a good Idea, puts you in charge of setting up Q's trial, and possibly others.

So this is something that @Sailor.X's judgement thread got me thinking about.

Your friendly neighborhood ROB is at it again, and he has decided to have you put on a little "Court show" for him.

As such, he has captured all the Q and stripped them of their powers, then he has given you the pick of the multiverse from which to assemble the finest legal staff and a (mostly) unbiased set of jurors.

In the first scenario, Q can defend the Q continuum against your hand-picked judge, jury and prosecutor.

In the second, you assign the continuum a lawyer of your choice.

In the event that you entertain him, the ROB shall give you the power to de-fang another set of pompous, judgemental pricks that think they can judge a whole species based on their standards and put them in front of a jury.

Have fun!

On what charges?

You would also need to staff the whole thing with Q level beings if you want anything approaching a fair trial.

I mean asking ants to conduct a trial for a human would probably be more fair than asking humans to judge the Q. At least ants and humans are both limited to linear time.

The Q can credibly make the argument that the outcome of any given action on their part resulted in a "better" situation than if they had not acted.

No Q intervention and the Federation doesn't meet the Borg which means the militarization that occured post Borg never does, which in turn alters the Dominion War. Hell, it may well also keep Voyager from ever occurring; and the outcome of that could well be a Borg victory further down the line.

Then you need to judge based on scale. The Q don't have any obligation to favor the Federation or humanity. So how are they judged if an action makes things objectively worse for either/both of them but has a positive outcome for some other species or polity?

Hell, what morality standards are we judging them by?

You decide.

Answering this, because @Emperor Tippy does have some good points.

Well, I think I could charge them with being what they would deride other species for writ large. After all, they literally had a civil war with metaphorical muskets that blew up stars as a consequence of their use. I'll probably need to refine it.

Maybe, I could create a cosmic grand jury.

ROB primarily wants to entertain himself and teach a moral lesson to the Q.

I'll do so then.

Whatever moral standards you choose.

I'd have to to consider the one most valid. I'd probably have to choose the most Divine or Cosmic form of justice, perhaps appeal to the Logos itself for that...

For this to work, I am going to have to find a judge and a jury that is going to be, well, judicious in their decision and will have an idea of how things work at this level.

Since I want to have an impartial judge, I think grabbing someone who represents Justice itself, so either True Aeon (Chad Cease to Exist) Knight Commander from WoTR, because he/she went so full justice they sacrificed themself to stop a cosmic wrong. Or probably, Tunon, from Tyranny due to the fact that he is a guy who was so justicy that he eventually became the embodiment of justice...and the way Tyranny works he was very likely memed into it in a sort of meme-feed-back-loop of him being so incredibly just or LAWWWW that he influenced the beliefs of people and then those beliefs influenced him to be more just/lawwww until he literally stopped being a person and became law incarnate. Pretty much like Darth Nihilus minus the nom nom nom and the evil. Tunon, I think, is my choice.

And then for the prosecutor and defense attorney, I'll need figures who'll take their job seriously. And will be interesting enough for the ROB's amusement. So I think I should go for the ultimate prosecutor, the ultimate cosmic DA...The Accuser himself, Ha-Satan of the Talmud. I am pretty sure the man who YHWH trusts to do the job should be very much apt for the position. And then for the defense I'd like someone else that would do things properly, a lawyery being and good at it. I am thinking either Abadar or Asmodeus from Pathfinder since they both have lawyering in their domain. Abadar, would be the choice for having a good defense attorney and Asmodeus would be the choice for...FUN! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SATAN VERSUS SATAN IN AN EPIC LAW SHOW DOWN! NO HOLDS BAR IN THIS ULTIMATE CONTEST OF LAWWWW!

Now that I have this settled, I'd either pick a random jury from across all of existence or handpick them. If I handpicked them I'd also go for beings that cared for properly judging things and would be at least close enough to judge the Q.

Juror 1: Tiber Septim (he is a patron of the Imperial Law, pretty sure, THE EMPIRE IS THE LAW, THE LAW IS SACRED)
Juror 2: Apollo (he did give the Greeks Jury Trial)
Juror 3: Zun (he is the justice-giver and I am sure he'd appreciate the work since he hasn't been worshipped for the past thousand or so year and also PRAISE THE SUN!)
Juror 4: Tyr (I figure he'd be another pick since he is into the more martial bits of law and justice)
Juror 5: Anubis (A fair judge and 100% not a dick)
Juror 6: Forseti (Going to double-dip here as to balance out Tyr)
Juror 7: Sotha Sil (Going to break from justice related gods to grab him, due to his wisdom and perspective)
Juror 8: Julianos (Fuck it, taking another TES God. He is also a law god, but he is also one of wisdom and logic- so he should Shapiro it, well if he isn't comatose as per certain TES lore).
Juror 9: Athena (running short on ideas, so double dipping again)
Juror 10: Yama (might as well going for the Buddhist Judge of the Dead too, he should have unique insights and also MAHOGANY!)
Juror 11: Buddha (Fuck it, I am going with him. He is fucking Buddha)
Juror 12: Pharasma (Fuck it, I am going to double dip for Pathfinder. She has the experience and is top god in PF, maybe, I didn't trust her to be unbiased enough to be a judge but she should work on the jury).

Hopefully this hodgepodge should be good enough to judge the Q, otherwise I could probably bring in things like the Downstreamers.
