Zelensky cruelly rejects accepting a guarantee in regards to the May 9th Victory Parade offered by Putin for the welfare of foreign dignitaries who will be in attendance. He also stated he would only follow a thirty day ceasefire as proposed by the Americans, not anything shorter like the three day ones extended by Putin, stating substantial negotiations cannot take place in such short periods of time and are merely "strategic" ceasefires for military purposes.

Taking advantage of the Weather and perhaps the upcoming strategic ceasefires Putin has been suggesting ahead of May 9th, Ukraine launched a border crossing incursion into Kursk again!

Ukrainian Magura Uncrewed Surface Vessel Reportedly Downed a Russian Su-30 Jet over the Black Sea.

It might've been two Russian Su-30 Jets Shot Down by the Magura Drone which utilized Western supplied AIM-9 Sidewinder Missiles

Over the past twenty four hours Ukrainian drone attacks have disrupted Moscow air traffic as they're being engaged by Russian air defenses and other mischief.

Ukrainian Magura Unmanned Surface Vessels Reportedly Engaging and Downing Russian launched Shahed Drones over the Black Sea with Vampire Surface to Air Missiles. The L3 Harris Vampire Missile/Rocket System in the prototype phase only a couple of years ago, designed as a low cost, self contained and palletized and modular ISR missile system and were sent to Ukraine originally to be mounted on pickup trucks. Earlier this year L3 Harris modified the system to also be operated from maritime craft.

Best Korea is reportedly sending fifteen thousand workers to uhhh work in Russia. Inexplicably Russia is apparently facing a shortage of workers, estimated at over a million and a half at present and will increase almost by another million by 2030. There's been a twelve fold increase in North Korean arrivals into Russia, typically on student visas where they are valued for being able to work twelve hour shifts for exceptionally low wages without complaint about working conditions!

1 - I finally learn that Russia is fascist!
2 - worker shortage - old news. Russian population has been contracting for the last 50 years or so. With Central Asian immigrants used to cover the shortfall.

Alleged targets of the recent drone strikes made by the Ukrainian forces over the past few days. A factory that manufactures MLRS systems (Uragan, Smerch, TOS-1 and Grad etc) for the Russian military in Tula, a fiber optics manufacturer in Saransk and in the Moscow area where all air traffic was shut down temporarily, the Kubinsk Airbase which houses MiG-29 and Su-27 Fighter Jets.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has stated they shot down over 500+ drones, five Neptune Cruise Missiles, a half dozen JDAM Guided Bombs and two HIMARS missiles in just 24 hours.

First documented loss of the 9K512 Uragan MLRS System in the three day Special Military Operation.

A Russian FPV Drone reportedly struck a Ukrainian M142 HIMARS MLRS system located over ten kilometers beyond the frontlines and set it on fire as it was attempting a shoot and scoot style strike. Russia has claimed to have destroyed two HIMARS launchers on a previous day in an Iskander missile strike as well though documentation for it has been spotty.

Ukraine has released detail of Russia's latest deployed 'small' cruise missile design, the S8000 Banderol which was designed in part to be able to be fired from larger drones or small UAV's similar in size to the MQ-1 Predator such as Russia's Orion platform.

It's powered by a jet engine with pop out wings, a reported range of just over three hundred miles or five hundred kilometers and has a 250 pound warhead. The missiles powerplant, telemetry module and inertial navigation system are all likely Chinese in origin and in the latter two cases possibly Chinese clones or replicas of Western technology. Also within were rechargable batteries from Japan and servo drives from South Korea as well as around two dozen microchips from original suppliers as diverse as Switzerland, the United States, Japan, South Korea and of course China. Similar to the new S-70 Flying Wing Drone recovered by Ukrainian forces, these missiles are largely dependent on foreign, often Western made microelectronics and other high tech components to be smuggled in so they can be manufactured.

The United States has approved the transfer by Germany of US made munitions to Ukraine in the form of 125 long range missiles for use by the HIMARs as well as a hundred missiles for the Patriot Air Defense systems.

Ukrainian Su-27 Operating with Bomb Loads of Multiple Types, Including JDAM's.

Ukraine has apparently opened up an online 'marketplace' where Ukrainian units can purchase things like drones, EW devices and other military accessories and components directly from domestic manufacturers. There's apparently even a "points" reward system involved for units that can confirm the destruction of enemy equipment and personnel...

Analyst Rob Lee postulates that until Mavic style drones and FPV Drones can be neutralized or countered effectively, any offensive actions in the Russo-Ukrainian War will have to be carefully planned and likely very small (company sized or smaller).

Grimly, apparently the documented loss of senior officers in the Russian Forces (Majors, Lieutenant Colonels, Colonels and Generals) has recently surpassed one thousand.

Ukrainian Military intelligence estimates Russia has deployed about 620,000 troops against Ukraine in their special military operation.

A second Ukrainian F-16 was lost as it was engaging and downing what were likely Russian launched drones over Ukraine. The pilot ejected, surviving the loss of his aircraft and rescued by Ukrainian personnel.

Ukrainian Su-27 conducted a glide bomb style attack with two thousand pound bombs reportedly striking a Russian headquarters in the occupied city of Lysychansk, thirty seven miles behind the frontlines.

Ukrainian Strikes into Crimea, an ammunition depot, and into Russia proper, an industrial zone, continue.

France announces intention to send Ukraine all of the Caesar 155mm Self Propelled Howitzers built or to be built in 2025, an estimated 144 units at twelve built a month.

Anti-Drone Cages aren't for just land vehicles... or even manned vehicles... anymore.

Ukrainian FPV Drone Tries to Strike a Russian Ka-52 Attack Helicopter. Unconfirmed on the effectiveness of the strike.

Details on a new and as of yet unnamed Russian Loitering Munition/Kamikaze Drone stacked with AI learning, foreign components and access to Ukrainian 4G cell phone networks.

Russian Yak-52's being modified to engage Ukrainian Drones.

Putin's initiated peace talks in Turkey started off with a low level Russian delegation making maximalist demands but it appears at the very least a large prisoner exchange of a thousand captured Ukrainians for a thousand Russian POW's may take place.

The depletion of the centuries old Omsk Arsenal which held hundreds of artillery platforms for the Russian military.

And nearby the depletion of the not quite as old Novaya Stanitsa Arsenal near Omsk. In 2021 it held over three hundred various tanks, armored vehicles and guns and now only a few engineering vehicles and trucks remain.

Yup, not only it was a delegation of backbenchers, to add insult to injury it was hawkish backbenchers at that.
Them saying that they are prepared to fight forever is however the clearest refusal of the peace process on Russian side we ever had. They may even be meaning it - they will fight as long as *they* remain in power. The only way it ends is some sort of 1917/1991 style economic-political event in Russia.

Italy to donate around 400 M113's or roughly two thirds of the 590 various M113 variants it currently has in storage to Ukraine.

CSIS Article on Evolving Ukrainian Aid in the Wake of Possible US Reduction of Military Aid including a chart showing the 'pipeline' of already promised and approved US Aid that will be heading to Ukraine in the near future.

Australia to send all 49 of its M1A1 Main Battle Tanks it was planning on retiring to Ukraine instead as part of their next large military aid package. There's been US resistance to this transfer since announced back in October of 2024 until last April.

After a meeting between German Chancellor Merz and President Zelensky in Germany, they signed a memorandum of understanding in helping Ukraine procure as well as domestically develop long range weapons that can be used against Russia without range restrictions. They'll also finance a significant portion of Ukraine's Starlink coverage.

Latvia to deliver 1500 more drones for use by Ukrainian forces, the first of 12,000 drones being produced in Latvia for Ukrainian use by Ukraine in 2025 under an operation called the International Drone Coalition Initiative which was established back in February of 2024 with Latvia as a leading partner.

Russia has converted Jet powered target drones into Strike UAV's.

Ukraine has allegedly used an "AI-Powered" drone for the first time. This drone carries two smaller FPV drones at ranges of up to 300 kilometers and is operated and guided independent of GPS using optics, inertial navigation and LIDAR. The FPV Drones use AI to determine targets.

Russian Intelligence alleges that despite promoting a neutral or pro-Russian policy, Serbian companies are supplying Ukraine with almost a billion dollars worth of munitions including thousands of artillery rounds and rockets, as well as millions of rounds of small arms ammunition through third party countries such as the Czech Republic, Poland and Bulgaria. Reportedly Serbia's President Vucic recently denied Serbia is supplying Ukraine.

Breakdown of Documented Russian Tank Losses By Type:

Ukraine supposedly smuggled trucks laden with FPV drones deep into Russia and then deployed said drones from them to strike at multiple Russian airbases typically well out of range of Ukrainian long range strikes.

Twenty seven Russian aircraft including many Tu-95 Strategic Bombers have allegedly been documented as struck by this Ukrainian drone attack.

At least one truck was unable to deliver it's drones.

Threads of reportedly documented strikes on Russian airbases...

This Operation has apparently been in the world for eighteen months and those involved in said operation are already back in Ukraine according to Ukrainian sources.

Losses still being documented and investigated.

Another thread on the attacks points out these trucks likely came into Russia via well established smuggling routes through Central Asia which Russia has used extensively to evade sanctions.

Ukraine basically took one of theoretical horror stories security people were throwing around worldwide as a warning regarding the potential use of drones by state and non-state actors alike, and made it real in Russia. Now the proof-of-concept is well done so those hypothetical stories will have to be taken far more seriously. Most targets in most countries are not currently defended against this sort of attack at all, and very few are well defended.

I mean easiest fix if heavy EW around all airfields and LAAD systems as well as CRAAMs.

I am seeing reports 27 Bears were destroyed, along with some number of Tu-22Ms, so Russia just lost a massive part of it's strategic bomber forces in one day.

This seriously hampers both Russia's conventional strike, and nuclear attack, capacity.

I wonder how our president will react and how the Russians will retaliate

Hitting airbases is less likely to upset Trump, compared to the Russians targeting cities/civies

Also, seen something is burning at one of the cities with major sub-bases facing the Arctic, but no info what precisely is burning.
