So what is your favourite style of gameplay in TES games? I've grown particularly fond of either battlemage gameplay style or warrior style + archery on the side.

These are the two styles I most often use. And I play orcs quite often in Skyrim now that they stopped looking like Shrek.

Sneaking+Pickpocketing+Archery

Mostly because the melee combat in Skyrim is boring as hell, pretty much everybody’s just a reskin with barely any intelligence or variation or are damage sponges that barely give the feel of hitting something

Also, because sneaking around and playing as an archer somehow feels funny to me, especially when I manage to evade everybody till the last person’s dead

Morrowind I liked magic. Oblivion the lulz of 100% chameleon and a sword tended to win. For Skyrim it tends to be sneaky Archery.

Although honestly, the combat in Skyrim is pretty meh.

Also one of my favourite faction lines in TES is the Thieves' Guild in Oblivion. You are denied access to the higher levels of the Imperial palace tower thing and you wonder why. Then the Thieves' Guild quest line makes you commit a heist of a fucking Elder Scroll from the most sacred place of the Empire. It's the most epic final quests of a guild ever in TES.

It's especially nice that when you take quests from Gray Fox himself, you get these very mundane tasks like acquiring some shoes from the cellar of a Vampire, some arrow head, etc... and then it turns out these are the keys to successfully infiltrating and exfiltrating the Imperial palace.

There are apparently rumors from TV insiders that Netflix is working on bringing the Elder Scrolls IP onto their streaming service after finding success in the Netflix adaption of The Witcher into a TV series.

There are apparently rumors from TV insiders that Netflix is working on bringing the Elder Scrolls IP onto their streaming service after finding success in the Netflix adaption of The Witcher into a TV series.

I will be extremely surprised if this goes anywhere. We hear sensationalist headlines about an the film rights to a book or an anime or a game getting bought up, and that there is a "show" of it in the works, and then we never hear anything about it again.

Game of Thrones ripoffs are all the rage nowadays, but there are far better candidates for such as a show than TES. Nobody ever played a TES game for "the story" or the characters. Nobody is going to watch a TV series about Ulfric Stormcloak, least of a show about some random adventurer in a generic low fantasy world. People play for the experience, the immersion of playing a sandbox RPG set in a generic low fantasy world.

Besides, didn't Netflix already try to do a Game of Thrones ripoff, with Marco Polo? I watched that show and thought that the sets and the lighting and photography of the sets looked amazing, but the characters and story were awful, and the show was cancelled after season 2. IIRC it was one of the most expensive TV series productions ever, probably a huge loss for Netflix. I'm not sure that Netflix would be eager to repeat that experience without making drastic changes to their next attempt. I suppose buying up the movie/show licensing rights to an IP for the brand name recognition would help, and having a preexisting story that has been well received to adapt would help with their storytelling... in which case they'd be better off trying to adapt Malazan or Stormlight Archive, or whatever big modern fantasy book series that doesn't have a TV show yet.

Each episode is going to be a different randomly encountered Oblivion Gate.

Despite being critically and popularly panned, it will be my favorite adaption of the Oblivion Gates in Elder Scrolls IV by several multitudes of magnitudes.

It's headed by Netflix, so if I had to hazard a guess, I suspect the actual Septims were black, with the white imperial Septims being invaders that infiltrated and overthrew the rightful family and the racist nobles going along with the putch because "muh historical victims!" It will be panned for bad story-telling and failure to entertain, and everyone involved in it will decry the fanbase for being sexist, racist, and every other bad "-ist". 4chan will make fun of the black Septims for a while and everyone will move on.

I hope Hammerfell and Skyrim are in an alliance and beating back the Thalmor, but I'm not sure if the Skyrim alliance would happen because the creators would have to canonize the Stormcloak victory. Then again, it's not like the writers really care about the player's efforts meaning anything, what with Morrowind going boom and the Empire collapsing.

I would love if putting some hurt on the Thalmor was a part of the main story, with or without a Skyrim alliance (though with is obviously preferable, especially if the Dragonborn manages to convince Paarthurnax that the dragons should get involved rather than stay out of mortal affairs; heck, just somebody in-game mentioning how "the Thalmor Embassy in Skyrim was burnt down by an army of dragons" would make my day).

I'm somewhat concerned about something Camelworks mentioned in another video, though: if they make the player a Redguard Sword-Singer it may limit player choices a bit too much. I mean, being the Dragonborn in Skyrim was cool and all, but I personally prefer the way they handled the player character in Oblivion, wherein you were basically a nobody without any special powers or abilities beyond what you acquired through your own choices (and the DLC). Basically, I prefer more freedom and less railroading as far as the player character's (likely role-played) origin and abilities go.

That might just be me, though,

You know, I'm really interested in seeing how every other province in Tamriel is doing

Fanfics kinda don't really look much into Summerset's leadership or current ways for one

I vaguely recall someone making a Skyrim mod that involved taking the war to the Thalmor, and ultimately ending up in the Summerset Isles. Something like that as culmination for the main story (or major side story) in ES6 would certainly be interesting.

Setting aside the Thalmor and the Aldmeri Dominion for a moment: Based on what few hints we've gotten over the past few years, and certain events in Skyrim (Quest: The Only Cure), I suspect either the Sload or Peryite will be involved in whatever's going on in Hammerfall. I personally would prefer the Sload, but to each their own.

Thoughts?

That would be hilarious.

The Aldmeri Dominion's main concerns are to do with mainland Tamriel

While I think the Sload and Maormer had relatively recent defeats or stuff that made it so that even a few centuries or millennia of rebuilding and planning'd be needed for another plan, they could potentially do something to the Dominion

Which is kinda something sorta ironic, the Altmer are themselves from what I can tell, also still rebuilding and recuperating numbers which is why they use Soft Power and spy networks rather than an actual army

Birthrates and Rate of Maturity are problems for them

Frankly, I don't have much hope for Bethesda to portray Summerfell as anything but a generic fantasy-setting in the desert region, rather than the bizarre stuff we read about in the lore. They retcon so much stuff as exagerrations to avoid putting any more work in than they have to, and the less said about how buggy their games tend to be, the better.

Yeah, my hype-train for the TES franchise stays in the train-station.
