Governor-in-waiting Kathy Hochul again separated herself from disgraced departing Gov. Andrew Cuomo. saying any alleged sexual misconduct happened in an “insular” environment.

Well that's a relief. The Lieutenant Governor was apparently so blind and ignorant she had no idea about Andrew Cuomo's months of sexual misconduct. Clearly she has the leadership, clear vision and tenacity and integrity to lead the state after her initial term in office is over. Can't wait to see her run in 2022! #MeToo #TimesUp

The DNC & Biden in particular, are strongly going to try to clear the field to ensure Hochul wins a full 4-year term in 2022.

Theoretically, the impeachment investigation is moot after he resigned, but when a legislative body still has an axe to grind, they go on with the investigation to the end so penalties can be enacted. This tells me Cuomo's resignation was part of a deal, and he's walking free.

Cuomo was going to stick around and make them remove him. Its a strategy that's actually been very successful in recent history as the actual mechanics of removal are arduous and messy and lots of political careers can get caught in the shrapnel which makes bluster and soft pressure more popular among the political class. Just look at how long its taken to pin Newsome down or all the consequences Governor Blackface suffered in Virginia.

Someone apparently had a frank chat about how little the DNC is going to tolerate such stunts right now and bribed/threatened the man into stepping down to avoid a public mess that would potentially make the Democrats look very bad. Quid pro quo the assembly is backing off so there's no official impeachment meaning that he can actually return to politics in five or six years once the furor has cooled off.

Cuomo is finished in NY St statewide politics as far as I'm concerned.

I'm willing to bet that we will shortly see all the investigations be dropped Cuomo resigned and kept the left from having to have people like Biden denounce him and be asked about their own behaviors

@gral @f1onagher @TheRomanSlayer @Morphic Tide @Captain X Outgoing NY St Governor Andrew Cuomo (D)'s personal belongings & effects put into U-haul moving truck before leaving the NY St Executive Mansion in Albany.

I should note 2 of his 3 daughters: Cara & Machaela have already moved out of the NY St Executive Mansion in Albany a few days ago.

Cuomo's last official day is on Monday, August 23rd & the resignation becomes official 11:59 PM EST.
