Commanders: Both of these men have been elected as supreme Commanders of their respective forces. But due to the large scale nature of the war they are not free from internal political problems hampering the war.

Garmilan Commander: General Erich Domel. The Space Wolf.

Covenant Commander: Xytan Jar Wattinree.

Scenario: Just before the attack on Reach a Covenant patrol stumbles onto a Garmilan scouting fleet in the Milky way. Words are exchanged and, mistaking them for Humans, the Covenant attack. The Garmilans call for backup as do the Covenant which results in a major fleet battle that is left inconclusive. Both the Garmilans and the Covenant pull back to assess the situation and their new opposition. What both learn is that they are now at war with what is essentially a peer empire and only one of them can survive. War is declared by both the Garmilans and the Covenant to end the threat of the Other.

Calcs: Inconclusive. Though for the purposes of this debate we will accept Covenant ships as stronger in terms of firepower and shields due to their greater size and mass, but counter balanced by the Garmilans greater speed and maneuverability. Neither factor is considered insurmountable by the other.

X-Factors: Both sides have them and both sides are free to deploy them within reason. For Garmilas, they have numerous specialty ships and advanced prototypes at the start of the war. They also have the beginnings of a wave motion gun. These are things they've created and can deploy so long as they can afford it. The Covenant have their own X-factors. Anything they have developed as derived from Forerunner Technology they are free to do so. They can NOT deploy Forerunner ships however no anything that would equate an instant 'Forerunner I Win button'.

Victory Conditions: For the Covenant to Win in this war they must capture or glass the planet Garmillas and destroy Second Belaras. If the Covenant can accomplish this then the Garmilans will offer a complete and utter surrender and the war will end. As by this point it has been established that the Garmilans are not reclaimers and thus their extermination is not called for. For the Garmilans, finding and then destroying High Charity will thus fracture the Covenant and the war will end by default as the Covenant crumble inward.

The Question of Humanity: Due to the nature of the war now upon them the Covenant realize they can not continue the war with Humanity. Since the Humans are no threat to them anyway they offer the UNSC a 100 year Truce in exchange for staying out of the war. For Garmilas the reveal of a Human Star Nation is surprising and not exactly welcome. Garmilas natural arrogance racism prevent them from asking outright. And the Garmilans blatant Fascism makes the UNSC extremely wary of them. So relations are...strained, but peaceful...if cold. That could change as time goes on. Should the war go badly for the Garmilans a change in their diplomatic approach could lead to an Alliance with the UNSC. The UNSC would certainly never ally with the Covenant. However, because things can always get more complicated, a curious thing happens when a ship carrying a messenger from Iscandar arrives at Earth inviting them to Iscandar. The promise of advanced technology and the ability to restore their lost worlds quickly from the very advanced Iscandarians is a very tempting prospect.

The Question of Gatlantis: Teresa told em to go fuck off and so they did, to the ends of the Universe. They will play no part in this.

So the question is. In a Straight up no holds bar war between the Great Garmilas Empire and the Covenant. Who would win?

Question two: If the war with the Covenant goes badly for the Garmilans, by Chance the Garmilans and the Iscandarians swayed Earth to side with Garmilas, Would this be enough to tip things back in the favor of Garmilas and Earth?

Question 3: Would Earth risk a trip to Iscandar and possibly piss off the Garmilans in doing so?

Earth would go to Iskander, becouse Gamillians would be fighting Covenant, which would wipe out Eart anyway.
And Earth with iscander tech would be enoughh to hold Covenant.
