Its the days before the Battle of Hoth, while on recon in a recently rediscovered Republic era colony world the Rebel pathfinders discover a larger semi-metallic, semi-stone ring that had been dug up by the former denizens of the world. However it seemed to have been abandoned along with the planet several decades earlier and the colony all but forgotten, retreating from the world as it is not deemed quite suitable for a base right now the ring is transported to Hoth where it is put into a storeroom and investigated.
A day later the Stargate activates to the surprise of the Rebels and slowly an odd unmanned droid/vehicle trundles into the room, looking over it the technicians hear a voice speaking a variant of what sounds to be basic asking them who they are and if they can talk to someone in charge. Several hours later the first visitors come through from the other side of the gate, an SG Team in full gear ready to talk with the Rebels and how they can help.
The current rules are in force.
1. This is the only Stargate in the SW galaxy, it is a special one of a kind much like the one on Atlantis.
2. SW does not exist in this version of events (too easy otherwise)
3. Thanks to the huge power generators of Hoth Base, the Stargate can easily lock onto Earth's allowing them to travel to Earth from Hoth, on the other end the SGC have plugged in a massive 304 scale reactor to allow them to use the gate to other galaxies once a week, however thanks to the Rebels that may change.
4. Disclosure happened with the end of the Ori War, the time frame is approximately ten years after the end of Atlantis, so do your worst.
How does this change both ends of this alliance, can the resources of Earth possibly make any difference to the Rebel Alliance or vice versa? How will the political and social ramifications of there being another human race of such a size in another galaxy effect the way both sides act?
Feel free to posit your own questions and answers.
