I don't know if they're just too stupid to recognize the inevitable consequences of their actions, or if they're arrogant enough to think they'll be able to use it to amass more power for themselves.
It's arrogance.

They are sure that with the new tech they're making that it will become easy to control the population. Give them entertainment and relative comfort but spy on and control their every action. Manage all information access. And kill whoever rebels because they've corrupted the government and are in charge of the security apparatus.

So starve the population down to "manageable" levels for the environment. Then take their "rightful" positions as the new "enlightened" rulers of humanity, providing food and comfort from what they are currently planning to horde.

I'm sure it will work out "great" for them and they won't be destroyed by being evil and infighting.

...I guess stupidity does still factor in.

Pride goes before the fall, and this level of ego gets destroyed by the real world all of the time.

Wexit is still being considered a fringe ideology, although the federal based Maverick Party has new leaders, from what I heard.

That being said, I had this insane idea of running for political office on a provincial or federal level, where I would become an advocate for repealing that idiotic ban on the construction of nuclear reactors in Western Canada and repealing the ban on the mining of uranium in the same region. Not sure how much I’ll go far, advocating for nuclear energy, west of Ontario.

The best policy is for the West to act like Quebec, it would allow for better bargaining power... and it might allow the hands of the Federal Government to be twisted...to more constructive ends. Hell, there probably should be a block that includes most of BC (outside of the Lower Mainland), the Prairies and maybe even Northern Ontario...hell there are even parts of Southern Ontario that probably would ally with the West against the Laurentian Elites...

It continues to baffle me why people could see all these horrible things their government is doing and bitch about how they can't really do anything because of how corrupt things are, and reject the idea of just walking away and doing their own thing because "extremism." :cautious:
Canadians can really be too passive about things, except when the Freedom Convoy occurred. There's a reason why the motto for Canada is "Peace, Order, and Good Governance", which is different from America's "Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness".

I'd say something, but it honestly would be just as true of the US. The main difference is that at least Canada doesn't have the stigma against secession that the US does thanks to the CSA. If Quebec can constantly threaten it, I see no reason why the other provinces shouldn't, and actually be prepared to do so.
