Why do people think us leaving is demoralizing?
Given how many people voted for Biden, I think I don't have to answer this question for you.

We have been there 20 years. THe country should be able to hold itself up. Look at South korea, Japan. South Korea is an example of a country we put people in power and were fought and willingly made themselves fight.
Even Iraq somwhat managed to redeem themselves after the Mosul disaster by beating the shit out of ISIS (with copious USAF support, courtesy of the Annoying Orange).

WHY ARE PEOPLE SAYING THIS IS SO UCKING HORRIBLE TAT WE ARE LEAVING! HE ISNT FUCKING WRONG! WHY KEEP US THERE? SO MORE OF US DIE FOR SOME PEOPLE THAT CANT TAKE CARE OF THIER FUCKING SELVES?
We (coalition forces) should have left Afghanistan long ago.

In fact, we never should have went there in the first place.

My theory is that Afghanistan was invaded to secure a steady supply of opioids for the elite.

Now the elite have a deal with the Talibs in regards to their drugs and they're leaving the puppet they've built for the last 20 years to rot and crumble to dust.

People that voted for Trump seem to see this as demoralizing....

No. Your theory is wrong.. they were hiding OBL, and we went to get him and they stood in our way. We wouldn't go into Paki so we stayed after destabilizing the area to fix it
Corruption makes you stupid.
yes
80% of the Afghan army only existed on paper.

Explains why they're losing so badly XD
Yeahhhh

Because it's Biden that's talking.

These idiots apparently forgot that it was Trump's plan to start withdrawing.

Now I understand why so many people voted Biden.

You Americans need to do a nationwide IQ test, bruh.

And they ultimately "killed" Osama in Pakistan. Right beside a big city with Pakistani military bases.

Me thinks that Osama had a great degree of cooperation with the Pakistani officials, or at least those in that region.

Afghanistan was a total waste.

If they wanted to get Osama they should have sent spec force units after having CIA personnel embedded with anti-Talib Afghan groups confirm his position.

A massive fooking invasion is going to do you no good if your target is one man.

Of course, this is as obvious to most people as the fact that Bush did 9/11.

I know for a fact that is why they are saying it. because Biden did it

It's more the manner in which it is happening, than the fact it is happening.

We should have been out of A-stan after Osama was killed, but we kept on with the farce of 'nation building' in the Graveyard of Empires.

As well, it's because of how much equipment that was left to the ANA is being captured by the Taliban intact and en masse.

This looks like Saigon 2.0 more than Benghazi in a lot of respects, even if we aren't skimping on protection this time.

I also think the Taliban are unlikely to try too hard to hit the embassy during the evac, when they can just loot and go after forces that won't actually fight back.

So I just found this out. Apparently the United States was still in Afghanistan. I had no idea because no Americans had died there for over a year in combat so the media basically ignored it because of such. Plus the media had to focus on more important foreign policy issues during the Trump Administration like Guam and stuff.

The American media stopped covering the war in the Middle-East during the Obama years. After the US had already spent two decades fighting in the Middle-East, and then Bush invaded and years and years passed and the magic nukes never turned up, and the shock of 9/11 wore off and people realized that there was no immediate existential enemy to the US, the drone strikes of weddings and the foreign occupation became indefensible. You can't keep televising American soldiers in the Middle-East without people back home starting to ask questions, so the MSM just stopped talking about it. The war only came up again when Obama appeared on TV to tout the assassination of Bin-Laden and tried to pass it off as if we had finally "won" somehow... and then ISIS happened debunking that myth and the media went back into pretending the Middle-East didn't exist.

Personally I hope that we just leave the place and never go back. Let Israel manage their backyard and strike any nuclear missile assembly plants.

Full agree here. Staying was a clusterfuck that was just costing lives, anyone arguing we should stay in fucking Afghanistan is a retard who's setting us back.

That said, the way the pullout is being done seems to be a bit of a mess IMO. Why send in more troops to leave? It'd be better to get the embassy people out before the full withdrawal, but maybe that would prevent US officials and bureaucrats from pretending their retarded nationbuilding was successful for the week it will take to fall apart. But still, literally any pullout is better than not leaving.

Embassy is always last in these situations. Mainly because it isn't easy to stealthily pull them our in the major city.

Plus it gives time to finish up any last diplomatic stuff at the Embassy
