What advanced equipment? The stuff USA gave to Afghanis is a bog standard gear that Iranians already produce equivalents of. Not to mention that Iranians already got a very good look at such gear in Iraq.
It was feared that pulling out the embassy would cause the collapse of the government. As it turns out it doesn't matter. So now they have to send troops to secure the perimeter of Kabul airport, because ANA can't be relied upon not to turn on them during evacuation, reinforce embassy perimeter during evacuation, bring in a helicopter unit with full support staff and fly all the people from embassy complex to the airport. Probably also engineers detachment that will make sure that any confidential tech in the embassy (owned by CIA and NSA) that can not be removed will be destroyed.

Afghanistan of all places? That's more of a belated rolling back of imperial overstretch. The whole nation building effort there was a mistake, no reason to keep pumping blood and money into it. This should have been a hunting expedition all along. And once that objective was done, fuck the whole place. And if it becomes a shithole again?
