But the main point is basically that Chinese tech isn't worth talking about. They're at least 30 years behind the US on every major sector, despite all the prestige projects you read about on social media that never manage to churn out anything that can be mass produced.
How long ago was that? They have been modernizing heavily in the last decade

What the specific subsection of the left that's causing these riots is trying to do, as far as I can see, is to stir public anger against Trump with massive rallies and political violence. Relying on riots to terrify the administration into compliance is a tried and tested Leftist tactic since the Civil Riots era, and it's never failed them since.

First, it took how long for these to start? Obvious astro-turf is obvious. And people have had years of the 'summer of love' and 'mostly peaceful' and 'peaceful but fiery' news and memes. More normies are going to be turned off by this.
Second, people are going to hate dealing with this shit.
Third, Trump has more than enough time to respond.
Fourth, they're attacking feds, which means federal law enforcement can act.
Fifth, Conspiracy charges are on the menu now, I heard. I think once we can nail a few to the wall for 20 years a lot of the rent-a-mob will go away.

The next election is in 2026, and a week is a long time in politics. Especially when that will be more than enough time for social media and Hollywood to convince people that the riots never happened and Trump just brutally assaulted peaceful protestors because he's Hitler. And more importantly, it could get the Left (which was busy feuding until now) to coalesce around a single cause again.

I think that as usual, Trump just handled it like an idiot. He should have simply condemned the riots while letting them burn down California and turn more voters against them, and only send in the troops when California's Republicans publicly ask for them (to set the stage for the framing that Trump and the Republican Party can save people from the Left).
