I'd vote Desantis, but I mostly agree with you. I don't care for compromise any longer, and I'm not even as far right as most of this forum. But u have no desire to compromise with these democrat weasels.

I mean, given his stance on lockdowns, DeSantis doesn't seem the compromising sort.

Which is a big reason I like him.

As do I. I also reckon he'd bring an energy to the office not seen for a while, due to being on the right side of fifty and whatnot. He is a Trumpian as I understand it, but better spoken and a good deal less "sleazy." As for Trump himself, whilst I'd reckon he remains the practical leader of the GOP, he's better off as kingmaker than President. He's a bit old for it now, and his twitter addiction can get a bit much.

What's the sitch?

That's the compromising I'm talking about. It sounds nice and all but it's still compromising.
Do you believe he will not be smeared to hell and back non stop? Despite appearing more "palatable"?
He held firm in Florida, but was it because he is legitimately that way or because Trump took the majority of the media focus?

For what it's worth I wouldn't vote against him, but not for him.

That's precisely what I want in a candidate. A better spoken Trump who can push for the the policy I want and hopefully getting results, while being able to be more articulate and set narratives better.

Trump's aggressive attack dog style was actually a strength, and I see that in Desantis. It's just that Trump could be a bit sloppy. Trump's strength was not in being particularly articulate. Someone like Desantis can play the attack dog role and do it even better because he can deliver in a more precise way.

And I don't even mean I want him to be polite. He's rumored to have told Biden to "fuck off" and calls him Joe. I just like it when people are better presented. Trump is sloppy.

Those people will smear him no matter what. And no level of being articulate will change that.

This is about what I want. Fuck them.

Personally, I don't really care whether or not he's more "palatable" than Trump; I just want someone who has an actual plan for how to deal with our rampant corruption issues. Trump himself was something of a compromise on that front, as all he really had going for him was that he was willing to shine a spotlight on it and call them out; beyond that, he mostly spent his four years in office not doing much to try and fix the problem.

Not entirely fair.

He spent a lot of time shouting at the problem and expecting it all to fall into place. That would have been difficult anyway, but then he kicked out Steve Bannon and took the counsel of Neocons, making the task impossible.

Trump was alright, but in hindsight he made a whole load of mistakes.

He trusted that Republicans in government would be on his side and support fixing the problems.

He knows better now. If he gets reelected first thing he'll do is purge everything and put people he trusts in instead of people recommended by rinos. Pence and McConnell hamstrung him at every turn. That and the various agencies doing everything they could to stop him and stonewall investigations.

Looks like Sarah Huckabee-Sanders is well placed to become the next Governor of Arkansas, especially since Asa Hutchinson is term limited in 2022.

Shockingly, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson has declined to support a Trump 2024 Presidential Bid.
