Barcle there is a very clear limit of how much the american people are willing to sacerfice for other countries.
Yes Russians are assholes this is well known, and has been well known for awhile, american's are willing to give intel, their willing to give weapons and to a degree their willing to give money if they have assurances its not just being used to funnel money into corrupt polititions pockets.
But the fact is, when Kabul fell, it was this generations fall of Sigon, the fact that it was a very visable and very public humilation and the fact that Biden showed just how little he fucking cared about our service men. That burned a lot of bridges, people just are not willing to die for a regieme that openly doesn't give a single fuck about them.
If that upsets you sorry, but right now america has to do some serious house cleaning before we can really do anything internationally (with out fucking it up sideways)
Ukraine needs gear, they have the manpower already; they still haven't reopened the nation to foreign fighters.
So do not assume I mean we need to put troops on the ground, outside the people already there making sure our weapons don't end up on the black market. Much of the dollar amount going to Ukraine is the cost of the gear we are sending them, along with the the economic assistance to keep them afloat till the war ends and they rebuild.
This war, and the aid Ukraine needs, are not going to be gone fast, unfortunately, and Ukraine is hoping this time next year they will have retake Crimea, which then would allow most of their forces to retake the Donbas in 2024. But remember, they need gear, not US or NATO troops, so it'd be better to invest at home with more munitions plants and such to help make sure we can help Ukraine in the long haul.
Also, aid to Ukraine is barely a meaningful part of the federal budget; you want to get more bang for your tax dollar, cut the Title IX shit and the Diversity, Inclusion, Equity programs, or the unnecessary/redundant bits of the bureaucracy.
As for myself, I can't help but wonder if your antipathy toward Ukraine has more to do with them being in bed with Biden and the like than anything else. Me, I cannot help but sympathize with people who have had their homeland invaded by an aggressor which wishes to conquer their lands and erase their culture by doing things like kidnapping their children. I wonder if they're getting sent to something like the Native boarding schools, where children were taught how to be like white people, were given "Christian" names, and were punished if they spoke their own language. Or maybe they're just getting used by some Russian Epstein types.
