The staff have sockpuppets?

There are only a few. Some staff basically see interacting as normal as something that could cause awkwardness, so have a sock so they can communicate normally. Others, like me, just sorta hope that people know they are safe to call me a dumbass to my face without fear of mod retribution. I've tried hard to give this perspective, and I hope that I've done so.

To be clear, the real ban we have on sockpuppetting is using it for ban evasion or extra votes in a quest, not them existing in and of themselves.

Well, IMHO, anyone who was actually sockpuppeting would not openly state any association with the account that was suspended.

Filipina84 might actually be the wife of 49ersfootball, and be left with the impression that knowing this, we see her not as a distinct person, but merely as an extension of her husband.

We're not that ultra-trad here, nor are likely to ever be. 🤔

Staff using socks would make things a hell of a lot easier, since then we could just block the sock accounts and not deal with the mod's tism.

So there was this guy on SB, SV, and IIRC QQ that claimed to be... more or less every possible relation you could have. Uncles, Mothers(plural), Fathers(plural), siblings, wives, and all that rot. It got to the point people were trying to plot out this man's family tree, which seemed to have more incest in it than the hapsburg one while having more people in each generation.

This man could not remember the relations he gave these people for the life of him, which makes sense with just how many there were.

Of course, they always tended to pop up whenever he was in an argument or he was losing a vote in a quest and only ever in his favor, so odd that family would do that so consistently! Especially distant ones...

The staff got tired of it eventually and just banned them all... whereupon he created another sock, posted to bitch about the mod decision, and was promptly banned again.
