Coral Island. Indonesia-'inspired' Animal Crossing/Stardew Valley game. Recently into 'Totally not an Open Beta' Early Access.

It's... I mean it is what it is. The music is great, I think, the art has a pretty good direction. But it's barely out of alpha and it has maybe, being very generous, 60% of the actual content available at the moment. The mechanics are mostly there, but there are 'This is where the Developers haven't finished the script' text boxes.

It does have all the seasons, and at least one festival is currently done. Two mine shafts are open, so there's combat, and the diving is super chill.

I enjoy it so far, and I'm looking forward to eventual 1.0 release.

Amazing, after all this time, it's actually improved compared to other long-standing MMORPGs.
Honestly, much of the graphics is still decent, especially the foliage. And the writing even for the small quests? *chef's kiss* It feels very much like Lord of the Rings, and is the best antidote to Rings of Power.

Got back into X-Piratez, a (pretty lewd) total conversion mod for OpenXCom after having set it aside for a couple years. Still just as amazing, intricate and engaging as I remember it.

Cosmoteer.
Is a basic space adventure / build-your-ship game, but if you are in optimizing designs like me, is very addictive.

Been playing MW5 in the career mode recently. God, that game has absolutely no narrative depth to any of its missions. As fun as the combat is, the worldbuilding, or rather, the lack of making use of BTech's great worldbuilding aside from the most superficial mission design, is incredibly frustrating! And no new missions are being made because the damn editor is only available on the Epic Store.

Yeah, the camping/story progression is broken.
At one point I kinda hit a huge increase in mission difficulty.

Also, the A.I. for lance mates and formation control is kinda meh.

That said, the camera disjointed from walking direction annoys me more.

Yeah, difficulty is really arbitrary, or rather, it's location-based rather than plot-progression based. Which, I assume, is fine enough for an open world game like MW5. But what bothers me is that you have the core concept of HBS Battletech, ie. you own/manage a mercenary company, but none of the strengths or depths of that game.

Lancemates? No personality, no banter, no progression, no nothing.

Ship? You don't manage or upgrade it.

Missions? Utterly generic, no real story/world or even emotional impact.
